First for the 3rd and an upside player?  Sounds like a trade Red would make.

Sure, but Saric is no Parrish
[dang] right. It's funny that guys compare Saric to Brown, a better comparison would he Simmons+3rd pick for the first pick to Philly fans about Brown+3rd pick.
Jaylen Brown for All-NBA

I would think his twin brother would have the same last name.

My memory that far back is a little fuzzy, but I don't recall Parish being that highly thought of at the time of the trade.

I'm gonna preface my statement with saying the I fully believe that Markelle Fultz is the real deal and has a polished and complete game the some of the greatest players of all time did not have at his age.

That said, I'm not in support of any trade which puts him in our division so he can literally destroy us for the next 15 years.  These trades are ridiculous. I'm fully in support of making the pick, but if you do trade it, you don't trade it to Philly with Simmons and Embiid and Fultz you're handing them a powerhouse.  Its just not done.

Dario Saric
Lakers 2018 pick (now owned by Philadelphia)
Jahlil Okafor

I agree. I think that trade is tempting:

CELTICS GET

Sixers 2017 pick (3rd overall)
Dario Saric
Lakers 2018 pick (now owned by Philadelphia)
Jahlil Okafor

76ERS GET
2017 Number 1 Pick
Jae Crowder

But at this point in the rebuild you want to go with quality over quantity.

This is something I can deal with. And I'm not buying the "Philly fleeced" narrative: if you want the first pick, you need to offer something special.

I wasnt around at the time, but he was a 26 year old putting up 17 and 10. How was he so poorly regarded?

The team getting the best player is the winner in trades. Fultz is the best player in this unless 3rd pick or Lakers pick turns out better....

Ive noticed the new vogue thing seems to be for people to point out that Red traded the #1 pick for McHale and Parish.

The situations really arent parallel.

The Celtics had Larry Bird.

Right now we need our superstar. We need to make the deal that gives us the best chance at a superstar. If we had Karl Towns, Id be more willing to hear people out about moving this pick.
