If Ainge rolls it back with Conan the Destroyer (KO) and Amir and Jerebko, I for one will be disappointed. I am also of the mindset that KO is not your future starting four. He is too uneven in performance.
So let's get rid of KO and Amir. I guess we keep Zeller and Mickey ?
I would love to sign Blake griffin or acquire Marc Gasol. Just think it is pretty unrealistic financially.
I'm fine with keeping KO and Amir as backups. If we can get better bigs in FA that are affordable and who fit our system then I'm all for that. I think we are going to have to settle for whatever Danny can come up with in FA. Better get used to KO and Amir.
Be thankful if we can keep them on team friendly contracts.
Also the Grizz just signed Gasol and Conley long term. Don't see them trading Gasol away.
The position that we need the most should not be occupied by Amir/KO next year....especially if we strike out on FA's. With the GSW and Cavs being legit contenders for the next 2 years, I'd honestly rather blow the team up, have 2 top picks next year, trade IT/AB instead of letting them walk....
This isn't 2k17 or fantasy basketball. You don't blow up a team simply because the other teams have better players. You build towards being a contender and like any contending team hope for health, good shooting, and some luck.
Blowing it up is not something you do at this point of the team build. That's just a non-option. Though given your past posts regarding tanking and love of 19 year old players, it doesn't surprise me you think we should blow up this team.
At least say those 19 year old players were Myles Turner and Brandon Ingram dude.
I get where you are coming from but I just have a different opinion based solely on winning 7 game series and championships, we only have 1 more then the Lakers. I don't think you should be coming at me personally tho nic, portraying me as some noob for:
-Having a legitimate concern with IT being signed (in a year)to max or near max money @ age of 29-34. We can't hand out max deals to everyone nic. He has the offense and heart but taking such a beating and being so undersized, well I think it's fine to question what his value to the team will be at 29-33/34 and at what rate his production will decrease.
- . Will a FA signing this summer put us in contention with GSW and CLE? What if we miss out on FA do we have a plan. If we miss out on FA do we pay a ransom for PG or Butler, would the upgrade at the 2 or 3 pay us back in the playoffs or would it be better to go after a 4 or 5.(all rhetorical)
-Bringing up our gameplan of HIDING IT on defense...can't hide IT on DURANT/LEBRON/ like we did with Otto Porter.
-have we come to a decision to let AB walk in a year...bc he's helped a lot in the playoffs. Don't count on Smart imo to take over for Avery's production in a playoff series.
- is it not the more shrewd act to get value for players before they walk? (rhetorical)
-What would have happened if RR did not get hurt. He had our number and IT could not be easily hidden on Butler/Wade and gave up a ton of length.
3 reactions to this:denial, anger, acceptance but I still do not deserve anything personal for voicing concerns about this team and it's future/core players
