Jimmy Butler = More refined and efficient offensive game. He has surpassed P.George.

He's definitely the better player now, but George fits our system much better.  His shooting numbers could go through the roof with all the open shots IT/Horford get him.

Sure, if you look at only this year and don't include his playoff performances or Elite D on elite players like Derozan, Lebron, etc. I've seen Butler getting burned left and right by elite players. Nobody wants to talk about the elephant in the room...He exerts most of his energy on offense now....

So does Paul George.
Demar Derozan is Butlers **** and Butler has had as much success against Lebron as anyone outsid Kawhi Leonard.

The idea that he struggles against good wings is completely false

Dude this isn't true. I posted Butler's stat's against elite teams and made it into a thread topic....Not my fault you didn't read it.

Did you by chance do one of PG13? (And yeah I saw that Butler vs. elite teams thread earlier as well)

From what I remember, PG13's wasn't great either tbh, but that was before he went on the mini-tear he has been on now. This has been a down year for George.

Yeah I hear people saying the C's should do nothing involving PG13 and just go after another 23 PPG scorer like Hayward in FA without trading away assets.

Butler is a little different.

I saw the thread and it proved Butler was worse against elite teams. This is not surprising. He still put up like 21/6/3 with decent efficiency and a winning record.

Furthermore the thread didn't have any defensive analysis if I recall correctly. So even if you believe that 21/6/3 vs elite teams is actually bad, it doesn't address defense which is the argument I was making.

You can take a look on his defensive stats, they're not elite, but defensive metrics are really misleading. So I don't think it's a proper tool to use.

Completely agree.

My eye test is just giving me a different answer than yours.

I think Butler has consistently shut down Derozan and he has done a great job in making Lebron work (he is 4-0 against Toronto and Cleveland this year).

I was also impressed with his ability to switch on to Isaiah late in the game last week.

George for me, he has more size and versatility.   Plus he has been bound to have learned some from Larry.

PG probably fits better alongside IT, but Jimmy is pretty comfortably better and his contract is far more favorable. I'll take Jimmy.

George. He almost single handedly beat Toronto in the playoffs last year, has been in playoff battles with Lebron.

I said George but then I looked again at Bulter's stats this year.  He is really having a phenomenal year.  You could argue that after Thomas, Giannis, and maybe Jokic, Butler is having the biggest breakout year.

I voted George, Butler played better this year, but I think it has something to do with PG13 not being as aggresive as last year.

Butler's value is high right now. I think Paul George is still the better player and a better relative value at this time. So I definitely prefer George.

I really like Butler but I believe George to be better.

Would absolutely love to somehow get both.

I'll take George because I think he would be a better fit here, he's more of what we need IMO.

I don't know a ton about either player, but I like George better because (IMO) he fits better with IT, and because he has great height for his position.
