This tells me that Ainge isn't going to give up assets for a rental. Unless, its PG-13 of course, but at least that gives us his bird rights to sign him over the cap.

Orlando really blew it with the initial Ibaka trade. Good business move to bite the bullet and get what they could for Ibaka, but who thought that the original trade was a good deal with Ibaka's contract, the logjam in the frontcourt, and all they gave up? It isn't like Orlando was on the cusp of challenging and needed a bold move.

The Celtics are not interested in surrendering assets of value, including first-round picks and prospects like Rozier, for short-term acquisitions that do not clearly put them over the top for title contention, per sources.

They are still behind. Being better on paper is one thing. These future games have to be played and won. I trust the Celtics. We also have an easy schedule.

This seems like a smart move, one that would be validated even more if we go further in the Playoffs than the Raps would this year.

I wanted Ibaka, but I'm getting now why Danny didn't want to pull the trigger on an expiring deal.

Yeah, seriously. Toronto and Washington have passed us? Please. We have been dealing with significant injuries to starters and rotation players the entire season and here we sit two games behind Cleveland and four games ahead of Toronto.

I totally agree with Ainge not trading real assets for a rental this year. It is about the future. Players like Bogut will still be available and I am not so sure (if healthy) he can't be as effective as Ibaka.

Frankly, I am glad that Noguiera and Sully will now get fewer minutes. I LOVED the Ibaka of the past, but this newer, slower version is about to get monumentally overpaid.

Haven't really heard about what the C's were willing to give up.

Toronto is confident it can re-sign him this summer, a source told ESPN's Ramona Shelburne.

Between this trade and the news about Love, the East just changed a lot.  I'm honestly starting to think that us finishing #1 might be possible, and with Toronto's improvement I think it could go Celtics/Cavs/Raptors/Washington.  That would be huge for us, I could see us making the ECF, with home court, with the Cavs coming off a tough matchup with Toronto.  I would still put my money on the Cavs, but we could push that to 6 games.

And then turn around and have the best lottery odds.  Holy crap
