A whole future protected first rounder for Jahil. Yup. The Sixers missed their sell high moment. And if that's all he costs we should get him ourselves. We can easily outbid that
Okafor is just in his 2nd season. He was injured at the end of last season and spent the offseason recovering from the injury. So exactly when was this mythical sell high moment?
When the Celtics apparently offered a Nets pick for him? Are you just going to ignore that report? Lol.
Ahhh yes the infamous Bulpet report that got picked up by other outlets and assumed as fact. Fun times that one.
Got to love the posters who were resilient in regards to the Sixers players value. It's funny, they don't seem to be happy with these latest reports. Anytime there is negative Sixers news, they get defensive instead of being happy that our rivals who are a legitimate threat in the coming years are going to have some difficulty building around Embiid and Simmons. It's whatever though. Hard to be upset when the Celtics have been amazing this year along with IT. And we have the Brooklyn picks. Future looks great for us.
Not defensive. Just don't believe there was a sell high moment for Okafor. I don't believe Ainge ever offered a Nets pick (or any other team made a good offer) for Okafor. The Sixers could lose Okafor and Noel for nothing and it wouldn't hurt their rebuild much. Their rebuild is predominantly dependent on Embiid's health and Simmons development. If those two are stars, they've got the young players, future picks and extremely good cap space to build around them.
I agree with you 100% (hence the TP).
I think Okafor's value has been slowly eroding ever since he was drafted. His value has never approached the #3 pick he was drafted with. The advanced statistics were awful from last year and then there's the personal issues. I think that right before the last draft they might have been able to get a pick between 6-9 from a desperate team. Now it's probably a mid 1st rounder or late lottery pick.
I never believed any dumb rumor that the Cs offered #3 for him. That number was always too high for Ainge's blood. I believe that was floated by the 76ers to try to drum up interest or just clickbait rumor. The 76ers would have jumped all over #3 last year so they could grab Dunn. And if the Cs did make that offer they'd be desperately trying to make a deal now since the price would significantly cheaper.
