A whole future protected first rounder for Jahil.  Yup. The Sixers missed their sell high moment. And if that's all he costs we should get him ourselves. We can easily outbid that
Okafor is just in his 2nd season.  He was injured at the end of last season and spent the offseason recovering from the injury.  So exactly when was this mythical sell high moment?

When the Celtics apparently offered a Nets pick for him? Are you just going to ignore that report? Lol.

Ahhh yes the infamous Bulpet report that got picked up by other outlets and assumed as fact. Fun times that one.

Got to love the posters who were resilient in regards to the Sixers players value. It's funny, they don't seem to be happy with these latest reports. Anytime there is negative Sixers news, they get defensive instead of being happy that our rivals who are a legitimate threat in the coming years are going to have some difficulty building around Embiid and Simmons. It's whatever though. Hard to be upset when the Celtics have been amazing this year along with IT. And we have the Brooklyn picks. Future looks great for us.

I'm terrified of the Pelicans making a bad deal. Their GM seems like a real idiot. Also, I thought the whole point was to make the playoffs to keep Davis happy and if they trade Holiday that will not happen (their other guards are not starter material). The reports are perplexing

Yeah they could, but I can't see them trading a good pick. Their GM isn't bright, and he's worried about his job security. Could be Billy King all over again for sure, but a deal has not transpired for  a reason. Thus far they haven't met Philly's price which is good. I think Philly will wait until the end to make a deal anyway.

The deal would apparently be for Alexis Ajinca and a 2018 first rounder, not Holiday.

multiple reports out there.  Some say Holiday.  Some say Ajinca.  Some say 2017 1st.  Some say 2018 1st.  Can't say for sure until the actual trade happens, if it does at all.

It seems that the Pelicans will send Lance Stephenson to the Timberwolves as a replacement for Zach Lavine. It's a 10 day contract.

Maybe the trade takes another direction now.

Stephenson is a free agent (who recently worked out with the Cavs); he's not being traded.

Like virtually all trade talks that leak, yes.  When they leak, it's because they can't agree.

Not defensive.  Just don't believe there was a sell high moment for Okafor.  I don't believe Ainge ever offered a Nets pick (or any other team made a good offer) for Okafor.  The Sixers could lose Okafor and Noel for nothing and it wouldn't hurt their rebuild much.   Their rebuild is predominantly dependent on Embiid's health and Simmons development.  If those two are stars, they've got the young players, future picks and extremely good cap space to build around them.

Eurgh, if the price is that low we need to be involved. Okafor still has upside for goodness sake. He'd be a nice piece for our 2nd unit with the potential to be much more than that

I agree with you 100% (hence the TP).

I think Okafor's value has been slowly eroding ever since he was drafted. His value has never approached the #3 pick he was drafted with. The advanced statistics were awful from last year and then there's the personal issues. I think that right before the last draft they might have been able to get a pick between 6-9 from a desperate team. Now it's probably a mid 1st rounder or late lottery pick.

I never believed any dumb rumor that the Cs offered #3 for him. That number was always too high for Ainge's blood. I believe that was floated by the 76ers to try to drum up interest or just clickbait rumor. The 76ers would have jumped all over #3 last year so they could grab Dunn. And if the Cs did make that offer they'd be desperately trying to make a deal now since the price would significantly cheaper.
Jaylen Brown will be an All Star in the next 5 years.

Why do we need to be involved? Just because he was drafted high? He is regressing as a player and he wasn't very good to begin with. What upside? He can't defend a chair and he is slow.

The one area where he is supposedly strong is his post up game but once you look at the stats it shows he is only average. He had the 11th most post-up possessions in the NBA last season with 315, scoring 0.85 points per possession on those plays, per NBA Stats. He was in the 54.7th percentile of post-up scoring compared to people like Brook Lopez (79.4th) LaMarcus Aldridge (84.3rd) and Nikola Vucevic (75.8th). This year he is actually below average as a post up player. So he is not even good at his ONLY NBA skill. He is not a good basketball player and the trade offers reflect that.
