I have a feeling this is why we are seeing Young play more, get a pick and some cash and make room for Sanders.

He's been away for a long time, Jordan was gone for a season and a half and he was really rusty. But good thing is, Sanders just has to worry about rebounding, blocking shots and anything else would be a huge bonus.

We are not getting a pick for Young.  Not even from Doc.

With several teams still under the salary floor, odds are good he'd be claimed, no? Seems like we could very easily cut bait with no repercussions.

Correct.  We might give up a late 2nd to trade Young if we felt we needed the cap room to sign Sanders (wouldn't want to gamble on someone not claiming him if we needed the space), but even that shouldn't be an issue, since we have the room exception, and having been out of basketball for a couple of years, even that seems too much for him.

I was kind-of hoping for one of those contracts we offered Javale McGee a couple of years ago that was essentially the league minimum for the rest of the season with a team option for next.

Sanders has a lot of money; now he has a lot to prove he belongs on an NBA roster long term (and we have minutes to offer). I would be more than happy to give him a shot and with pot now legalized in Mass, it really is a match made in heaven.

It's still not legal in the NBA, so that's not a good selling point.

You and I both know that the rules regarding illicit substances in the NBA would be flat out ignored by some players.

Oh, for sure they are.  But Sanders clearly proved unsuccessful at evading punishment the last time, and as a multiple-time offender, he has to undergo extra testing.  Until the NBA stops suspending players for it, I can't call any location with relaxed MJ rules a "match made in heaven."

Don't kid yourself. Sanders is show me the money. And he's a risk.

No thanks. No telling where this dudes head is at.

Heck, birdman came back and he was into meth (and some weird underage stuff too)

Regarding the Birdman, that's just not true.

Regarding Sanders, no thank you.  We have enough projects, we don't need another.  There's not a good track record for players taking multiple years off and successfully returning to the NBA.

I'd be pretty excited if we signed Sanders.

Hire Parish as big man coach...and connection.

The bong hits would be epic, dude.

Somebody pointed out McCarty is now the centers coach? Over Clif Ray? Ugh.

I remember Waltuh. Rickster turned him into a 3P shooter, and he sucked. He looked like an all star going to the basket (as he did in Kentucky), but Rickster liked his 7 footers on the perimeter. Does that strike a bell?

What Heinsohn ever saw in that guy is beyond me.

Looking over the Sanders situation, it really seems like he had some mental health problems. If those are resolved or managed, then he could be a steal.

If the Celtics can sign Sanders it's a no brainer to give it a shot.  That would be big.

I have the eerie feeling the Warriors will get him..

He does have the Warriors as a choice I think.

Man that would suck if he joined GSW and also gave them excellent size... (a weakness for them now)

Folks,

I think I should clarify that this was purely meant as a joke.  I have no idea which teams Sanders is interested in (probably any that will give him a chance).
