Danny Ainge fixes the Celtics with an old weird trick other NBA GMs don't want you to know about.

Frankly, I don't think this quack has been clowned nearly long enough or hard enough in this thread. I am disappoint.

Speculating wildly is much more fun to me than dumping on a guy when I don't have enough info to craft personalized burns.  I mean I don't even know how stupid his stupid face looks.
Dumping on a guy no fun? Sacrilege!

I also question if Griffin is good enough. He has an allstar team in LA with Paul and Jordan and those guys and they aren't very good.  He's overrated. Cousins is on a bad team. Very different.

The clippers aren't constructed that great though. Deandre is sort of overrated. But between Paul and Griffin and their shooters they still aren't that great.  They don't play defense really at all. Deandre is that and thats about it.

Wstbrook - no.  We have isaiah.
Butler is out.  They just signed dwade and Rondo to keep him for a bit
Durant is out and will most likely return to GS.  We may have been his second choice but he's gone.
Griffin-do you really think Doc is going to trade us Griffin?
Anthony Davis is signed until 2020 and there is no reason for the pelicans to deal him
Paul George - Bird isn't trading him here any time soon.  He has injury issues anyways and isn't a guy who can put us on that level
Hayward - could come here but doesnt make us that by himself. He also isn't moving righ tnow.  Utah is trying to win with him this year
Harden is out
Marc Gasol is not moving at least not right now and there are no signs he will.  They just signed Conley to keep Gasol around for a while.
Lebron no
Curry no
Okafor not good enough. Could be a contingency plan.
Middleton could help us but not good enough

THat's everyone. Towns isnt going anywhere. Wiggins and Parker do nothing for us.  Neither does Noel.  It's either Cousins or we build with what we have and maybe add Hayward to entice someone later.

everything seems to be hinting at Cousins hmm

So this guy is good enough to be our best player but not good enough to consider us favorites over the Cavs? Interesting.

Now, I could be WAY off base, but coming out of left field, is there anyway James Harden signed an extension with the intention of Houston trading him?

No.  James Harden by rule cannot be traded for six months after the date of his extension.  I think this guy is full of it in general, but I want to clear that up for you.
Gotcha, thanks for the clarification. Just brainstorming over here, I like to be stupidly optimistic.

When he was healthy 2 years ago he was third in the MVP vote. That year Chris Paul got hurt and Blake absolutely took over. I think Blake's issue in LAC is one of fit not of talent. Obviously if he's declined due to injury that changes things.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

cousins makes most sense, but he doesn't jibe with the family friendly gist around the rumored player.  Family friendly plus danged good = Butler or Marc Gasol.

Sac loading up on centers though...Do we have enough future assets to trade for Butler and then Cousins afterwards?

Blake Griffin to Chicago, Butler to Celtics, stuff to Clippers?

Gay and a bunch of good stuff to Chicago, Butler to Celtics?  (that would alleviate some of the shooting issues in the Rondo, Wade, Butler backcourt, but a heckuva lot would have to be added to Gay)

nice thinking there

Yeah it's more how that team is just constructed. Griffin may move eventually.  But he might just stay with that lifestyle. They are good enough.  It's n ot overly his fault. I kind of doubt Doc would trade him here though.

If we dont get cousins. Griffin and hayward are our next  best bets but getting  both seems like such a long shot.

Griffin was pretty dominant the season before Cp3 went to LA and well before DeAndre became what he is now. People forget Blake averaged 22.5 pts, 12.1 rebs and 3.8 asts as a rookie, if anything, the emergence of DeAndre as rebounder has negatively impacted Blake's rebounding numbers.

When Cp3 was out the season before last, Griffin played point forward and basically was an offense all by himself. There was like a 7 week stretch where he averaged 26.6 points, 9.3 rebounds and 3.9 assists with Chris out and was still a top 4 seed.
2021 Houston Rockets

SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

My guess: It's Paul Pierce. Who wouldn't be happy with Pierce returning?

Isn't he a free agent though? We wouldn't need to make a trade to get him

Nope he's under contract for two more seasons.
