It's part of the evaluation of new and young talent.  That's why it's in place. Come on.

Based off the Summer League?

Ah yes, why not. It's not like he's practicing with the main roster, being coached by the main coaching staff and this is pretty much who he is in the NBA and has no room to develop right?

I love the overreaction. Very entertaining.

Also, BTW, if people here think they can be better GM's than Danny Ainge, how about you test yourself and sign up for the CB Draft.

Let's see those GM-ing skills.

Where do I sign?

And by that very statement does it not scare the Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. out of you that brown struggles at this level while his counterparts excell yet as you put it...he's not even practicing with the main roster yet?  Holy cow that's at the least a bit concerning seeing as how he's the #3 pick.

I warned Ainge about taking this kid third. Right now the #58 pick in the draft And Nader is better than Brown. Dead serious Nader knows how to play and he's athletic.

Brown can jump big deal. He's a basketball moron. It's only going to get worse people against the real Nba bigs. He can blow buy his defender and then get stuffed or throw up a brick at the rim.

I'm so mad about the pick it's ridiculous. He's thrown away both Brooklyn picks on guys that can't play James Young and now Jaylen the Bum Brown.

Anybody supporting this argument gets a Tp.
We could have added Horford and Dunn and been much better off. I'm p---ed.

You called Brown a basketball moron. By reading your post, is it against forum rules to say that you mister, might not be in the best position to call someone else a moron?

You warned Ainge? Does he listen to other fans, or just you?
The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.

While I don't think Bender is anything more than a soft Euro like most of the others from what I saw last night and we won't be upset over not picking him, I really worry about Chriss. He looked the part. Smooth, athletic, productive... Time will tell, but he's the one I worry about us wishing we had picked instead. Brown's looking very shaky in his basketball abilities. He loses the handle way too often and doesn't look like he has the fundamental defensive knowledge needed to be a star defender. Time will tell, however it's making people nervous.

This is the thread for the CelticsBlog Draft.

As far as being scared, absolutely not.

He's showing a lot of positives too like on defense and getting to the rim.  All the things he apparently "sucks" at can be improved once he practices with the main guys, learn the main system, because that's when he really learns what he needs to do.

What he's doing in the Summer League is just basically getting acclimated to the speed and physicality of the NBA, and he's doing okay so far. I can't judge him because of SL performances, if I do, then I should be able to say that Kris Dunn, who hasn't shot the ball well and had 8 fouls in his last SL game would not do well in the NBA too.

It seems Bender, Murray and Hield have been pretty putrid, too.

Exactly, we have no idea right now. Sure Brown looks raw, but we really won't be able to judge him until next year. If he doesn't show improvement, then yeah he'll probably suck.

Not only basing everything off summer league, but recommending guys that we passed on drafting as way better picks even though they were a lot worse in summer league (Bender).

And again, I have to say if you say Brown was terrible you don't count defense.  His defense, especially on bigs, showed a lot of promise.  If he has issues shooting but can give us minutes at PF, he will be in a good spot.

On offense, he is raw but he does some solid things and his aggressiveness going to the rim is a big positive for his development.  He attacks the rim like great slashers do.

I agree. I wish we had taken Chriss.

I've seen Bender, Dunn and Chriss in the D league so far, and they all look better than Brown.
I'm beginning to think Danny screwed the pooch. The only caveat is it's early.

If you think Danny Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.ed up than that opinion should be rooted in the substantial predraft scouting information not the 70-100 minutes of summer league play. Especially when of those 3 only Dunn has truly stood out.

I'm curious which part of Bender looks better. The 20% shooting? Or perhaps he's just more handsome?
