Who snatches up Barnes now?

Supposedly he has a deal in place with the Mavs.  We'll see if Woj was correct on that one, as he reported it yesterday.

Who snatches up Barnes now?

Most probably Dallas.

It's a good thing we have the best perimeter defense in the NBA.

Here's the glaring omission here.  We kept crowder over butler  ::).  Durant comes here if we had butler.

No he doesn't.  We wouldn't have had the cap room in the first place.  We would have had to trade Crowder, Bradley, and #3 to make it work salary wise.  Which is what Chicago was asking for, but that's a lot of talent to get up.

Now Jaylen Brown can become our next superstar.  He's got the talent.

As if this matters

Add Butler and one of Blake Griffin/Paul Milsap/Russell Westbrook to our roster right now. This GSW team would still annihilate us. Once he decided he just wanted to go create the superest superteam possible there was no other place he was going to go.

1.  I hope GSW is ready for the fallout.  The national media kiss ups will be all over them but they are going from one of the most popular to the most hated teams in the NBA.

2.  This will not be as easy as they think.  Barnes is gone, Ezeli is going to be gone, they have to trade either Bogut or Iguadala and I would expect them to lose another bench piece or two given all the cap space teams still have.  GSW is also going to have to significantly change their style of play.  Durant is not going to be happy running off screens all game.

3.  Durant can kiss goodbye any chance of being considered an all-time great.

Mike
Some "basketball decision", KD.  Dubs will be the Clips now.

Durant could simply get the ball on top often, like Green does, while 3 other shooters run off screens and either pass or do his super effective ISO against the missmatching defense.

This team will get killed on rebounds. They just sacrificed their depth for a superstar. What a joke. All my respect for KD have now gone straight in the toilet bowl.

KD's a pretty good rebounder. He led OKC in that category last season at 8.2 per game.

Will he play 5 most of the time? Because if he is, better prepared to be abused by likes of Cousins and Drummond.

Well, Draymond typically plays the 5 in the small ball lineup with Barnes as the 4. Now their just replacing Barnes with KD.

SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

I've never thought I'd see the day that I'd agree with something Stephen A. Smith said:

Don't give a [dang] what anyone says: weak move by KD. You go to GSW, the team who beat you, when you're already on a title contender? Please!

they are going to break the 73 game record next year.

We were excited about winning 48 games and getting a number 3 pick in the draft.

Here is a team that just went to back to back championship games with one win, and 73 game regular season wins, and they add a first ballot hall of famer.

They should not lose any game next season.

Yep. Same here. But Stephen A. is actually an older-school philosophy type when it comes to this type of stuff.

I really hate this, but admit they will be a little fun to watch.

It will be interesting how they fill out their roster after Curry, Thompson, Durant, Iggy, and Green.  All d league minimum guys. Lol

I'm trying not push the panic button for us.  Stay flexible, develop our young guys and a deep team, and take it from there.
