Brooklyn signs Joe Harris to a two-year deal worth two million.

And Anthony Bennett up next: https://twitter.com/MikeAScotto
Looks like Randy Foye signed with the Nets as well.

I think Bennett was 15.  That said, they still have nearly a max salary in cap room. Maybe they'd like to call Greg Oden as well.

I hear they're going to try to make room on the roster for Andrea Bagnani to come back and are making calls to lure Kwame Brown out of retirement.

Manu back to the Spurs, which is not surprising.  What is surprising is apparently the 76ers made a huge offer to him, which forced San Antonio to pay him $14 million for one year.

I don't recall if we had posted details of Pau's contract, I just saw that it is a 2 year/30 mill one.

I saw that, that was bizarre.  What the heck were either Manu or the Sixers going to do with each other for one season?  The obvious answer for Ginobili is "get paid" but it doesn't seem to make much basketball sense for either party.

(I'm doing a deviation from the main topic, apologies in advance)

that's p cool IMO

if the salary info here is correct then the Spurs are 13 mill above the cap, and are already quite loaded for 2017-18.

I think of it this way: if you are an ambitious player in the top-30 and want to contend where can you go? You can try GSW, Cavs and SAS but you'll have to accept a small salary. If you want a max or near max and a competitive team the C's are among the few teams that suit the description.

For one year, I actually think it could make a lot of sense.  It's purely a veteran presence type of signing, maybe 10-15 minutes a night with some shooting off the bench.  The Sixers have quite a young team and we've already seen the immaturity factor seep in with Okafor, and one of the knocks on Simmons out of college was his work ethic which, while a different kind of immaturity compared to Okafor, it's still a form of immaturity nonetheless.  Manu I think would've been a perfect fit there to act as a mentor.

It's one year, they have the money to spend, might as well spend it.  If anything, I'm more surprised the Spurs matched it.

That number must include a cap hold for Manu, which will be $21 million.  He's obviously not getting that.  If he retires, as many expect, they should have about $8 million in cap room.  If Gasol opts out, they'd be around $23 million.  It's not impossible to see them in the chase for a max free agent again.

Sixers offered him a 2 year, 30 million dollar contract with the 2nd year only partially guaranteed.  They wanted a veteran in the backcourt.  Made a lot of sense.
