Man, if this were 10 years ago...

Do any of those guys have one last decent year in them as a reserve?

Did Josh Smith really fall off a cliff? He's not THAT old, he's only 30 with no major injury history. I would have thought he has more left in the tank.

my assumption is probably his bball IQ. When he was with ATL, I wanted him very badly, but not to the point where I am willing to trade Pierce (who was rumored at that time), then he went to DET, they started winning when they waived/traded him, then he went to the Rox, which I think he did well there initially, but he practically didn't do anything on the Clippers. I m not sure if I want him at this point, maybe if he comes at a reasonable low price, which I can see happen if he cannot find a home soon

I live in Atlanta and go see some of their games.  Josh Smith was a black hole who would keep firing without a conscience.  It got to the point that the crowd would groan whenever a player even passed to Josh Smith.  He had his moments and yes he had talent, but he could shoot you out of a game in no time.  I actually thought he was a better complementary player in Houston and was surprised they weren't more interested in keeping him.

He took twice as many 3's with Houston last year as he has any other season and shot 27%. He COULD have a few good years off the bench left, shot selection has been the issue for a while now I think?

I think Amare will have another decent year or two as a backup C.

Josh Smith is great when he doesn't do Josh Smith-y things like firing a million of three pointers that he can't really make consistently (hello, Jared Sullinger). Also, his athleticism has declined, and with it a lot of his game.

That seems like a good value contract. Ainge used to be interested in Hill, I guess those days have passed. I am surprised that the Wolves went with Hill with their big man rotation already a bit crowded.

I was hopeful he could be a room level signing at $2.9 mil for one year, but obviously he could command more.

As long as the league continues to play "keep-away" from the Nets, I am happy.   :P

The Pelicans and free agent Terrence Jones are reportedly nearing agreement to a one-year deal.

The Rockets and free agent Pablo Prigioni have reportedly agreed to a two-year deal.

I like Terrence Jones as a PF next to Anthony Davis at C. Very quick and athletic. Both are two way players. I think that would be NOP's strongest big man combination. I hope they start the two of them together.

Jones has been an utter disappointment especially defensively.  He is like dead last for PF's in some of the advanced stuff.  Davis definitely needs to play Center though and if Jones can figure it out (a stretch to say the least) he would help them a lot.  Hate to see Davis just rotting away with the poor team built around him.

Sergio Rodriguez to the 76ers for 8 million dollars/ 1 year contract

http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/sports/sixers/Sixers-sign-Bayless-Rodriguez.html

Interesting signing.
In my opinion it is not good to have Sergio on your team. He just randomly takes horrendous shots just because he hasn't had one in awhile. I'd love if that dude went to Brooklyn.

indeed :)
