What I don't like about the lottery is. Why not actually do it in real time

Like have a machine full of balls -.  And pick 14 to 1st.  Maybe some team gets 2 picks(only 1 counts) .  But it's more exciting this way

Otherwise who knows if it's rigged
The actual lottery can take longer than a half hour as four digit numbers come up for teams multiple times. We know its not rigged because team reps are present and the whole process is watched over by an accounting law firm that certifies the results to be clean.

The other thing is that the way it's set up, you'd learn who got the #1 pick first...then #2 etc.

It'd ruin the suspense.

I can't believe some of you killing yourselves over this waiting.

Yeah this is found money for me.  If we tanked all year and bottomed out with a miserable squad and still got stuck with 5 or 6 I could understand the disappointment, but we had a fun, relatively successful year and have a bright future no matter where the pick falls.  It's all gravy folks, have fun with it.
Agreed.  Even the 6th pick will be fine for us.  I thought the Brooklyn pick would have ended up 12-17 had they stayed healthy.  We're already lucky to have this pick as high as it is.  Whatever.

The actual lottery is put online every year and it does nothing to stop this kind of talk.  It's approaching anti-vaxxer levels of obstinance at this point.

Absolutely true and, no matter which team wins the lottery, you can create a story about why it was fixed.

Where it differs from the anti-vaxxers is that conspiracy theories about the lottery are fun and harmless.

I'll probably be a little bummed if we get #6 just because the odds are so low, but it's still a fine pick (and it means the Lakers are guaranteed to lose theirs).

#6 is good, #5 is a bit better, everything above it is just better and better.  We have an excellent pick that we didn't expect to have, and we didn't have to suck to get it.  It's a great situation.

We get it, guys. It's a great situation.

Now are we still allowed to be hyped like 6-year-olds on Christmas Eve?  :P
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

Hell yeah!  I'm pretty hyped myself.  I'm just trying to counter some of the doom-and-gloom "we're gonna get screwed" negativity.  We can't get screwed, we've already got a golden ticket, we're just finding out exactly how shiny it is.

No one should get bummed if we get #4 or #5.  We have a near 50% chance for one of those two picks.  It's our most likely scenario for a combo of 2 picks.

One can be bummed if we get #6.  We have a 4% chance of that, and if we get that it means someone moved up who we probably don't want picking in the top 3.

One should be ECSTATIC if we get #1 or #2.  As much as the draft is a crap shoot, you have to trust the scouts, and they all say this is a 2-person stud draft at the moment.
