I love that list.

And what I'd love even more is quotes!  Specifically, quotes from pre-draft scouting reports stating why those players listed were not especially good top picks and / or had low ceilings.

Basically, I'm hearing a lot about how this draft really stinks in the 4-10 range and there really aren't any prospects with a decent chance of becoming better than just OK in that range.  Would love to see some examples of players taken in drafts that were considered similarly weak that turned into All Star type guys in the NBA.

I am way too lazy to look up quotes but the 2011 draft springs to mind.  It was thought to be really weak even before several players stayed out due to the lockout, and there were several early busts, but look at 11-20:

Klay
Alec Burks
Morris Twins
Kawhi
Vucevic
Shumpert
Chris Singleton (the only bust in that range)
Tobias Harris
Motiejunas

And Jimmy Butler fell to 30, with IT of course bringing up the rear at 60.

I can't believe some of you killing yourselves over this waiting.

If you're implying that I take this way too seriously and pretty much have no life during draft season, then you are, well, actually, you're probably correct.

I don't want to say it's fixed, but the fact that the Lakers just named Tim Donaghy as their draft representative is telling. ;)

This isn't super reassuring since it suggests in a weak draft the best talent can easily slide out of the top 10.  But I suppose if that happens the Celts have picks at every level of this draft...so long as they don't trade all the picks but the BRK pick.

You got your examples, now let the reassurance wash over you.  Let it!

What I don't like about the lottery is. Why not actually do it in real time

Like have a machine full of balls -.  And pick 14 to 1st.  Maybe some team gets 2 picks(only 1 counts) .  But it's more exciting this way

Otherwise who knows if it's rigged
The actual lottery can take longer than a half hour as four digit numbers come up for teams multiple times. We know its not rigged because team reps are present and the whole process is watched over by an accounting law firm that certifies the results to be clean.

The actual lottery is put online every year and it does nothing to stop this kind of talk.  It's approaching anti-vaxxer levels of obstinance at this point.

No way.  The sixers just did the nba a favor and hired colangelo and his dimwit son.   They'll get the favored returned tonigh and the whole world will pretend like the NBA is not fixed...again.

Yeah this is found money for me.  If we tanked all year and bottomed out with a miserable squad and still got stuck with 5 or 6 I could understand the disappointment, but we had a fun, relatively successful year and have a bright future no matter where the pick falls.  It's all gravy folks, have fun with it.

Hnng, gravy...

In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

You'd think the sheeple would finally wake up when they see something as blatantly rigged as the team with the best odds winning, but nooooope.
