3 days until the lottery baby!

It has been neat having legitimate hopes of Simmons/Ingram,

Soon we will be more decidedly talking about Murray, Bender, Hield, Dunn, or Brown...or the trade Danny has lined up with that pick.

Hey, it's literally a coin flip for us getting a top 3 pick.
Keep the faith.

Exactly.

The Lakers' blatant tank  went against the grain of that proud organization's history. Even Philadelphia's "process" did not include counterproductive rotations; the Lakers were nauseating to watch, frankly.  Brett Brown has done a very creditable job with his players -  they were young and mostly marginally talented, but they played hard, they played defense.  The Lakers, on the other hand...

It will be interesting  to see what the future of this Los Angeles team will be; can you build a winner like this? So far they lack fight, they lack character, and the shortfall in team spirit is not at all encouraging. Can they even keep D'Angelo Russell after what happened?  What team would risk having him in their locker room?

lol, this is complete and utter conjecture. There is zero evidence of this.
You're simply being a hater.

This is a Cs forum - I think it is okay to be a total hater in regards to the Lakers.   :D

How funny to be accused of that on a Celtics discussion site!  Consider this, as one example among many:

“It’s bad,” one team source told ESPN.com’s Ramona Shelburne. “It’s about as bad as it can get. There were trust issues already. Now there’s no trust.”

Note that the "trust issues" were there even before the Russell/Young incident.

I hate a guy betraying his teammate. How the heck does that happen in a Los Angeles Lakers locker room?

What I hate is not the Lakers (one of the proudest franchises in all of sports, and that's the point) but what they became last year.

I hate it when guys don't play hard - and for a whole season.  They had the worst defense in the league, not surprisingly, and by a comfortable margin. Perhaps more surprising was that they were led in that by their veterans.

To their credit, they canned Byron Scott; how hard they play is his responsibility, ultimately, since he determines playing time. His Nets teams played great defense...

I hate that they get rewarded for this with a high draft pick - or maybe not? Karma, they say, is a ****.

No, sadly this is not "complete and utter conjecture".  Fortunately for all of us, their season is over, and they can get back to basketball excellence in the coming years; likely they will.

since the lottery is based upon specific odds, and philly and LA have the best odds among nba teams of being #1 and #2, i can see your point after a fashion.

however, the odds are greater that the two of them do NOT wind up as #1 and #2. you might want to look at the many odds charts put up in cb lately and you might want to look at the history of the draft to see that it is not unreasonable to expect things to turn out differently than you predict.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Sorry that we're not all conspiracy theorists. The Lakers, mathematically speaking, have a better chance of losing their pick than finishing top two.

I suspect that his point has more to do with the naive idealism of fans than with any claims about actual odds; in other words, it's more appropriate to criticize him for his cynicism than for his math.  I liked the wit in his comment.

I'm sincerely touched by people's hope and allegiance and love for the team; but they ought to be reminded from time to time that, after all, Boston probably won't get the top pick.

Would be thrilled with a Top 2 pick but not holding my breath. Just excited the Celtics have a lot of ammunition in this draft.

Agreed. Not expecting a top 2 pick. No fan base should with the lottery.

Especially Celtics fans giving the recent lottery history since the Duncan draft. ;)

I'm just happy it's a top 6 pick
