How would you guys feel if it was one of the Nets picks not next years and Crowder?
It'd probably take something like that would it not?
Taking Crowder off this team to make it better makes no sense unless we are getting someone like Durant back.
Precisely.
I honestly have zero interest in making a deal for Love if said deal requires us to give up any of the following:
* Thomas
* Bradley
* Smart
* Crowder
* Olynyk
* 2016 Brooklyn pick
If we can make a deal for Love without touching any of the above assets then I can live with that, but if it means giving up any of the above then no freaking way.
If Danny gives up any of those assets for "Sully with a three point shot" then I am going to be very, very unhappy.
I hate to tell you but eventually you will be unhappy. To get something you have to give up something. Half those players won't be on the team when the C's are a contender again. Are they untradeable in your eyes?
No, those assets are not untradeable.
I am find for trading any one of those assets, but if we are going to trade them, it should be for transcendent player who will be a game changer for this franchise for at least the next 3-4 years.
Those assets are too valuable to this team's current success to justify giving them up for a overpriced, declining, injury prone, locker-room killing dude like Kevin Love.
I would rather just keep those guys, see what happens with the Brooklyn pick and in free agency, and roll the dice.
Love is not worth it that type of haul, and if we made that deal everybody on this forum is going to be whining in regret 2+ years from now when we are still stuck with $70M worth of untradeable lump.
IF giving up those assets could get us Kevin Love
and a really good defensive minded big (e.g. Dwight, Noel, etc) then maybe I can stomach it.
If giving up those assets gets us Kevin Love
and a star or borderline star wing (e.g. Rudy Gay, Derozan, Tyreke) then maybe I can stomach it.
If we are giving up assets on that list JUST for Kevin Love, then that is sickening.
