How would you guys feel if it was one of the Nets picks not next years and Crowder?

It'd probably take something like that would it not?

Taking Crowder off this team to make it better makes no sense unless we are getting someone like Durant back.

Precisely.

I honestly have zero interest in making a deal for Love if said deal requires us to give up any of the following:

* Thomas
* Bradley
* Smart
* Crowder
* Olynyk
* 2016 Brooklyn pick

If we can make a deal for Love without touching any of the above assets then I can live with that, but if it means giving up any of the above then no freaking way.

If Danny gives up any of those assets for "Sully with a three point shot" then I am going to be very, very unhappy.

I hate to tell you but eventually you will be unhappy. To get something you have to give up something. Half those players won't be on the team when the C's are a contender again. Are they untradeable in your eyes?

No, those assets are not untradeable.

I am find for trading any one of those assets, but if we are going to trade them, it should be for transcendent player who will be a game changer for this franchise for at least the next 3-4 years.

Those assets are too valuable to this team's current success to justify giving them up for a overpriced, declining, injury prone, locker-room killing dude like Kevin Love.

I would rather just keep those guys, see what happens with the Brooklyn pick and in free agency, and roll the dice.

Love is not worth it that type of haul, and if we made that deal everybody on this forum is going to be whining in regret 2+ years from now when we are still stuck with $70M worth of untradeable lump.

IF giving up those assets could get us Kevin Love and a really good defensive minded big (e.g. Dwight, Noel, etc) then maybe I can stomach it.

If giving up those assets gets us Kevin Love and a star or borderline star wing (e.g. Rudy Gay, Derozan, Tyreke) then maybe I can stomach it.

If we are giving up assets on that list JUST for Kevin Love, then that is sickening.

Rumor has kelly sully lee Bradley and Brooklyn pick on the move

from where?

Yeah he keeps citing rumors and "word" but won't say what the source is.

cltc please be as specific as you can about where these statements are coming from.

maybe in 2 separate trades, but not all for Love.  That is insane.  No way DA gives up KO, Sully, Bradley, and the Nets pick just for Love.  Maybe for Durant, or a real game changer.

The C's must really envision Love as that guy for us.  I don't see us giving up both Sully and KO though.

If he did that to my cat, I would call him worse than that.

I agree.  Again, I can relent on the pick as it is an unknown but if that pick becomes #1 we are ALL going to flip out.

It's tough but I'm kind of leaning this way too.   I'd rather NO provide the high end role players out of Anderson, Gordon, Asik, Holiday, and whoever.  NO really could use to hit the reset button again building around Davis.  We give them Sully, Zeller, Lee, one of Young, Hunter or Rozier, and any non Nets pick if need be.

I'd love to take the risk on Love but he hasn't played well enough to warrant major assets.  I have a feeling Bradley will have to be included.

A guy like Love is a means to an end. You gotta get the ball rolling somewhere. C's don't have that one piece yet.

That deal I am ok with.

Even if the pick was a future Nets pick (any Nets pick but the 2016 one), I'd be fine with that too.

But I'm not ok with a deal that involves giving up either:

1) A pick that could potentially fall top 2 or
2) A core player who, if lost, makes this team significantly worse either now or in the future

Cleveland’s growing interest in New Orleans’ Ryan Anderson bodes well in Boston’s seemingly never-ending quest to acquire Kevin Love in what’s shaping up to be a potential three-team deal that would include the Boston Celtics. The particulars of the deal are still in the discussion phase, but the end result if it comes to pass would send Love to Boston, according to a league source.

Considering Cleveland is also looking at Channing Frye, it certainly seems like Love may be on his way out.

I am fine giving up the 2016 BK pick for Love.  I am not fine adding one of our starters to that package.  I don't see how that makes us better.  The only one that make any sense is Bradley, since Smart can move right into his role.  But that will kill our guard depth and our bench while creating an even worse log-jam at the 4/5 position.

It'd be tough to lose Bradley but Smart is ready to take the reigns and Terry Rozier has the makings of an adequate replacement for the first guard off the bench.

No question a huge downgrade especially in the short term (cant forget that at one point Bradley as ranked 1st in his class above John Wall) but if we need an explosive combo guard to replace our explosive combo guard, IMO we could do worse than giving Rozier a shot.  Doubt he'll ever be the shooter that Bradley is but he could be more effective at getting in the lane which has never been Bradley's strong suit.

Could also see RJ Hunter developing some nice chemistry as a kickout option for Love when he'd gets double teamed in more traditional sets. Trading Bradley would be taking a step back this year but could make us a more complete team in the long run.
