Possibly the greatest team of all time is going to make a trade mid-way through their season?

Wow! Did you start watching basketball in the 90s?

Do you come on here just to troll LarBrd33? Because thats about the only time I ever see your posts
Eddie hassles me on this forum so much that he actually haunts me in nightmares.  Well... Eddie, and this crab:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iz6sOKL6rBE  ... mostly that crab.

Wait... People don't realize that this GS team is an all-time team, and could be the best ever?
Seriously, though... if they manage to actually beat the Bulls record and win the title (which obviously isn't a guarantee, though seems increasingly likely)... It will absolutely be in consideration as the greatest of all time.   To Eddie's point, we're already seeing people discuss how it would stack up against the best teams ever.   Bill Simmons had a podcast with Tom Thibs where they touched on how a team of towering bigs like McHale and Parish would handle a small-ball lineup the Warriors are running.  It's an interesting question, but not really even worth discussing until we see if the Warriors can actually pull this off.

But the idea that they will change things up right now by moving Barnes seems pretty nutty.  Why mess with possible NBA perfection?   Simmons had another podcast where they dumped all over the "Durant to Golden State" free agency rumors suggesting that it was incredibly unlikely they'd mess with this team's chemistry by bringing in Durant and speculated it was just rumors being floated by rival teams to try to cause a rift in the Warriors locker room.

Wow!  Did you flunk out of 2nd grade Math Class?

Prisoner of the moment.
They can lose a game for every 5 wins.  If they finish the season 25-5, they lock up the record for most wins ever in a regular season.  If they followed it up with the title, many would define that as the greatest team ever.

This isn't news for you, though.  You knew dam well what I was saying.  That team is threatening to be the greatest of all time... can't see them making a trade.

It wasn't about regular season wins for the 86 Cs. That team had won a title in 84, lost to the Lakers in 85, and only cared about winning a title in 86. It was never about winning regular season games and breaking the Sixers record, it was simply about winning a title and getting revenge. If you read Bird's book Drive or The Last Banner there's more detail on the matter. However, rest assured that the 86 Cs would've had the regular season wins mark if that's what they coveted. They simply didn't. I mean Bird would play certain games only using his left hand just to have fun and make it interesting.

Enormously great trade for GSW. Not so much of a fan for us.

Why? It doesn't make sense for either team. GS probably more than us. Crowder is an almost elite defending wing who can reliably hit the 3. That's all GS needs Barnes to do, and Crowder is much better at it than him. Now, Barnes probably has a higher ceiling overall, but it's not like he's showed a ton of glimpses of a potential all-star wing so far. I'm not sure his offensive ceiling is much higher than Crowders and his defensive ceiling is certainly lower.

Add in the fact that Crowder is signed at a huge discount for the next 4 seasons, while Barnes is up for a HUGE contract this summer, and it just doesn't make sense. GS would need to add assets to make that trade, and they don't really have them

Barnes scares me of turning into the next Jeff Green not living up to the potential.  I wouldn't mind taking a chance on him in the right package, but I'm not sure I could stomach losing Crowder in this deal.

y?

you absolutely take this deal and run with it

we got Crowder (who was pretty much a throw in, in the Rondo deal).  CBS has done a marvellous job developing him to the player we see today.  Hard working versatile defender that is much improved shooter

but lets get real.  The guy is 6'5 SF/PF that can't slow down Lebron, George, Leonard's game etc.

Barnes is ready to take it to the next level.  I don't disagree he will be looking for a deal around 18-20 million a year for his next contract.  But we make the offer first 16-17 million, and if another team offers him 19-20, we match it.  End of story. Have locked up one of the more promising SFs in the league.

Vs the Rockets - 24 pts and 7 reb.

crowder is not an almost elite defender. You kidding??  He is a very very good team defender and good 1 on 1 defender.  Top effort

But he can't stop any of the top 10 sfs one on one.   He is a 6'5 sf , not explosive, overly quick.  Just sheer work ethic.

Can't see GSW making any type of move. Why mess with team chemistry?

they won't. Crowder would fit like a glove

Not as skilled as barnes but a better team/more active defender. Can hit the open 3

I don't think this is really a great deal for either team.

The Celtics would be getting a player who is going to need to be paid in the off season. We aren't sure how good Barnes is going to be and Crowder is on an absolute bargain contract.

The Warriors are having a historic season, they would be foolish to mess with anything.

As far as comparing the Warriors to other great teams, you have to realize the differences in rules from year to year. The Jordan Bulls were great, but if they were playing today they would be called for hand checking on every possession, with the way the Warriors double team and recover they could really give Jordan problems (they way W's double team the ball and recover they would consistently be called for illegal defense in the Jordan Bull's days).

I'd still like to go after Barnes in the off season though.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

If your trading Crowder it dang well better be in a bigger deal involving a All-star not the potential of Harrison freaking Barnes. Bad trade. Typical Blakely rumor.

As a companion meme to Broussard's Multiple Sauces, there should be a No Sauces one for Blakely.

you need to know that GSW does not want to sign Barnes to a deal he wants next.

They are a little more interested in going after Durant.   In addition it's not going to be easy to trade a 20 million per year barnes as Lee/Wallace type contracts are becoming extinct

Getting Crowder would be perfect for them.  Matter of fact their team D improves a tad and offensive power likely doesn't skip a beat
