If that's the case, I think they'd be smart to pursue it now. GSW can't afford to pay him this summer IMO.
I think they pay him, preparing to move on from Iggy as a rotation player going forward as he's starting to slow down visibly this year.

Think they match a max offer?

Possibly the greatest team of all time is going to make a trade mid-way through their season?

Wow! Did you start watching basketball in the 90s?
(48/52)*82 = 75.6

I understand its more complex than that, but those numbers mean that as long as the qualifier "possibly" is there this statement is pretty fair.

No private jets. Expansion.
86 Cs
87 Lakers

Either team annihilates the Warriors in a series.

Blakely has never said anything of importance or educational.
That dude just loves the sound of his own voice.

Why would GSW do this deal? They have the best team in the NBA, you can't break that up.

And why would the Celtics give up Crowder? he's the heart and soul of the team and arguably the 2nd best player, he has an amazing contract.

Crowder's numbers are better across the board and will cost a lot less.

This is about peak Crowder, though, and Barnes would play a much larger role in Boston.  It would definitely be he and IT dominating the shots with the starting unit.

But Barnes is going to get paid at least two or three times more than Crowder and I'm not sure he can be that much more productive.

I mean you can make that argument, but the fact is that this Warriors team is winning games at a historic rate.

You could make so many arguments when comparing across generations.

I mean Id argue todays athletes are much better. Todays athletes understand how to utilize the 3 point line much better. The way the game is officiated has completely changed.

Id like to believe that if you took Red and those C's or that Lakers team or some of those Jordan Bulls teams and put them in a modern arena, they would adapt and destroy the Warriors. HOnestly, I think they would, but they never won games at the rate this team is winning them.

Thats the only argument you need to put them in the convo of GOAT.

I suppose the argument is a bit like calling Carolina GOAT.

They won the first 15 games of an easy schedule. The 03-04 Patriots and the 2007 Patriots destroy that team.

Fact is this might be the most dominant team in NBA history.

Does that word change bridge the gap?

While Barnes offensive usage rate would go up, he just doesn't have the upside that people project onto him. Crowder actually has a higher career TS% than Barnes.

They need to finish the season 25-5 to break the Bulls record of most wins in a regular season.  If they follow that up with an expected championship, they'd be considered by many to be the greatest team of all time whether you like it or not.

I'd be pretty surprised to see them mess with that roster.

I don't think you can make that claim at all, after-all the Warriors would be bombing 3's and only giving up 2's.  I mean no way Ainge or Johnson is staying with Curry.  None at all.  Not to mention Bird has no where near the foot-speed to stay with Barnes.  Now don't get me wrong it works in reverse especially with the big guys of the 80's, but to act like it would be an easy series with the pure shooting prowess of Curry, Thompson, etc. is silly.  I mean who is going to guard the Warriors small ball lineup with Green, Iggy, Barnes, Thompson, and Curry.  That team is totally unguardable by either the Celtics or the Lakers.  The Warriors on the other hand do actually have size as they have not only Bogut and Green, but also Ezeli, Speights, and Jason Thompson.  Clearly varying degrees of skill there, but enough size to at least make an attempt (and you saw what the Warriors did to James, granted a one man team, but just body after body at him, something Bird would have to contend with).
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Prisoner of the moment. Seriously, when did you start watching basketball? It's just hard to fathom someone that watched those teams of the 80s thinking they wouldn't destroy these Warriors. Those 2 teams I mentioned.

They can lose a game for every 5 wins.  If they finish the season 25-5, they lock up the record for most wins ever in a regular season.  If they followed it up with the title, many would define that as the greatest team ever.

This isn't news for you, though.  You knew dam well what I was saying.  That team is threatening to be the greatest of all time... can't see them making a trade.

Wait... People don't realize that this GS team is an all-time team, and could be the best ever?
