Granted it's Blakely, but it's something we've all been talking about for a long time. Crowder seems to be the absolute perfect fit to replace Barnes in Golden State - a cost-controlled above average three point shooter who is strong and can switch off to both guards and power forwards when need be. Barnes could also be the scoring wing that we've been waiting on, and he gives us more size on the wing, better shooting, and only a slight downgrade in defensive presence.

I'm still questionable about this deal, because I'm not totally convinced that Barnes can ultimately make that leap to justify his inevitable larger contract. However, if it only cost us Crowder and a non-Brooklyn pick to obtain, then you'd almost have to do the deal.

What do you think?
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

I dont like it. Barnes will cost like 25 mil and is no sure thing to be materially better than Crowder for the next 5 years.

Possibly the greatest team of all time is going to make a trade mid-way through their season?

Is Barnes that much better than Crowder?

I'm not sure how big of an upgrade that is, counting on him doing more when put in a bigger role away from the GSW. He shoots the three better, but does a lot of other things worse. Often that extra shooting is more impactful than the rebounds/steals but not always.

Crowder has outplayed H.Barnes these last 2 months.

Yeah I don't see it, Barnes + Iggy means they can survive an injury to either of them or even Klay in all odds and still win it all.

I've been a believer the Cs should offer Barnes the max this summer. But he had to be open to signing that sheet with the Cs over another franchise -- and Boston won't be the only team willing to do it.

If that's the case, I think they'd be smart to pursue it now. GSW can't afford to pay him this summer IMO.

I think they pay him, preparing to move on from Iggy as a rotation player going forward as he's starting to slow down visibly this year.

I take this in a heartbeat. Barnes is younger and has a higher ceiling. Plus we have to spend the money on someone, not everyone in our squad will be on a bargain contract

Crowder's numbers are better across the board and will cost a lot less.

Plus why would GSW break up an all-time team ?

Blakely is such a troll

Wow! Did you start watching basketball in the 90s?

I think it would be a great trade for GSW. Given their financial situation + H.Barnes looming contract + the long term contract of Crowder ... I think it is well worth it for them to break up their record-pacing team in order to solidify their long term future.

There is zero chance of Crowder straight-up for Barnes.  Zero.

(48/52)*82 = 75.6

I understand its more complex than that, but those numbers mean that as long as the qualifier "possibly" is there this statement is pretty fair.
