Standings as of 4/12/16 -- will try to update weekly

Nets pick -- #3
Games Behind    Current Wins     Games Left    Last 10
Brooklyn           --                        21              0                  0-10

--> Couldn't have gone better.   hoping (actually expecting) the pick to go up on lottery night.

Boston Pick #22 (tied with Charlotte, Miami, Atlanta)

Games Behind    Current Wins     Games Left    Last 10
Boston          ---                         48                   0                  6-4

--> C's in a 4-way tie -- who'd have predicted that?  based on the tie-breakers, C's get #22 --> 2nd best slot out of those 4. I don't think they do a coin flip on this but if I'm wrong, someone please let me know.

Dallas Pick #17-- (protected if in top 7)
Games Behind    Current Wins   Games Left   Last 10
Dallas               ----                     42                  0                  7-3

-->Unfortunately Dallas made the playoffs.  Utah and Houston should be ashamed of themselves.  I thought the pick would be between 8-10.  so much for that.  still, #17 isn't too bad.

Second Rounders:
Philly - #31
Minnesota (if 1st isn't conveyed) - #35
Dallas (better of Dallas or Memphis) - #46  (these 2 teams finished tied so no matter which was is officially worse, we get that pick at #46)
Miami - #54
Cleveland - #58

2016
first rounders
Boston
Brooklyn
Dallas (protected 1-7)
Minnesota (protected 1-12)

Second rounders
Cleveland
Philly
Miami
Best of Dallas/Memphis
Minnesota (if 1st not conveyed)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the Dallas pick tied with Memphis too? Hence that we could possibly get #16?
Jack of all trades, master of none.

you may be correct but if going off the playoff seeding to determine draft order, we get #17.   since the Dallas and C's picks aren't in the lottery, I'm not sure they use a coin flip instead of playoff seedings.

According to this article from 2014 ties are broken by a random drawing.

http://www.nba.com/2014/news/04/18/ties-broken-2014-draft-order-official-release/

So we could still move up 1 or 2 slots.

TP for the article.

As for the slots:
Dallas could move to 16.  17 would be worst case.  The fact they have the same record as Chicago is irrelevant because Chicago's in the lottery due to missing the Eastern Conf playoffs.

C's could climb to 21 (up 1) or slide to 24 (back 2).  Odds are not in our favor in this circumstance.

should be interesting to see how those tiebreakers line up for us.

O'Connor's front page article says this happens April 15 - so we'll know soon enough.
