Didn't catch any of the first half, TP for a recap!

TP, but I got that much from the boxscore. Any explanation?

Shocker: the Celts really lack shooting, rebounding, and inside scoring.

Well Smart is finally becoming aggressive so that's the one positive I'm taking from that half. Everything else was bad... and it's just painful to know when our 5'9 best player can't hit the broad side of a barn we have literally zero offense...

Yep.  Thomas is the only guy on offense who scares the other team.  When IT is struggling to hit shots, the other team is happy to let Crowder, Bradley, Sullinger etc bomb away, and that's how we end up shooting 28% for the half.

I'll be honest though part of why I thought this would be a decent season was that I really thought Lee would still be able to produce consistently... but he looks like a shell of his former self... so yeah this is what we have now...

Agreed ....I fell for it too.......I'm really let down ....no wonder Warriors dumped him.....he an't much improvement over Bass...if at all

I'm noticing that people had expectations for Lee that he was never really suited to meet.

He's a guy who can score when there's spacing around him, but he's never been a great shooter or post-up guy so expecting him to put up points when he's surrounded by a bunch of mediocre scorers is setting him up to fail.

Lee's role on this team is to rebound, facilitate, occasionally attack when he's got a good matchup, and act as a leader on the floor.

He's doing okay in that role so far.  The Celts need other guys to step up.

Starting him is useless then because he can't defend, and we don't really having a scoring big to put next to him unless we start Sully with him. Zeller has been worse than Lee.

Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

Jae Crowder is carrying far too heavy a load offensively on this team.  Like Bradley, he's just not suited to be taking 12-15+ shots a game.
Agreed but I think AB is closer to that type of player than Crowder is.

Everything else is pretty close in number outside of us shooting 8% compared to their 27% on threes.

In essence, if we had guys who could get to the line and / or hit an open shot, we'd be competitive in this game.
it is not just the percentage, it's the whole offensive system right now, no open shots, everythink is basiclly one on one and offense by accident.

The obvious next move is to start IT. Amir needs more time. We should experiment with RJ. Without making one or more of those adjustments, we won't give ourselves a chance to win tougher games. Team needs scoring and AJ's defense.

Agreed.

I mean, really, we've defended them pretty well, and a lot of it has just been us missing shots, even wide-open ones. We need more Danny Green and Patty Mills 3 and D types than Jae Crowder D-only types.

100% agreed

Celts struggled to hit shots early and the offense devolved into forcing up a lot of tough shots.  Team recovered a little but the Spurs did a good job forcing weaker shooters like Crowder, Smart, and Sullinger to take shots and predictably the Celts laid a lot of bricks.

The Spurs had trouble hitting shots, too, but they have the size and talent inside to get to the line and force some shots in the paint, and that opened things up for their shooters.

All the whining about Smart misses the fact that he's got 9 points on 4-7 shooting with a couple of steals.

18 points and 4 steals on 8-14 shooting would be a pretty great game, no?
