At least Smart is still hustling!
You can't reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into.

Jae Crowder is carrying far too heavy a load offensively on this team.  Like Bradley, he's just not suited to be taking 12-15+ shots a game.

Manu Ginobili had no chance against Marcus Smart.

Too slow and going up against one of the quickest lateral defenders in the league.

Shocker: the Celts really lack shooting, rebounding, and inside scoring.

Well Smart is finally becoming aggressive so that's the one positive I'm taking from that half. Everything else was bad... and it's just painful to know when our 5'9 best player can't hit the broad side of a barn we have literally zero offense...

My goodness, this is just an awful offensive basketball team.

Just terrible.

The refs...omg

I always said when I left the Celtics, I could not go to heaven, because that would

3 free throws so far, 2 of which were a clear path. Refs are blowing this game.
we got 4x more fouls called.

Yep.  Thomas is the only guy on offense who scares the other team.  When IT is struggling to hit shots, the other team is happy to let Crowder, Bradley, Sullinger etc bomb away, and that's how we end up shooting 28% for the half.

Smart looks good attacking and going to the rim as the ball has been in his hands more, so there's that.

Otherwise the shooting has been bad.

You wanna give stars a call fine.  But don't penalize players for working hard.  These guys are out there scrapping to stay in this and every chance the refs cut their nuts off. It's beyond disgusting year in and year out.  Be nice to just watch a basketball game instead of th ref show

Recap:

12-3 on fouls

14-3 on free throws

Everything else is pretty close in number outside of us shooting 8% compared to their 27% on threes.

Indeed.  We've got a lot of guys who would be nice playing a complementary offensive role next to a handful of stars  As is, we've got a 8-10 guys in the lineup carrying a larger load than they're really suited to carry.

I'll be honest though part of why I thought this would be a decent season was that I really thought Lee would still be able to produce consistently... but he looks like a shell of his former self... so yeah this is what we have now...

jerebko should have played more, other than smart he has been one positive this half.
embarecing performance so far, CBS has to find a good line up for the second half.
look for IT4 to get going, 1 for 9 yikes.
