Nets struggling is definitely the highlight of the season.   Really hope the keep this up.  It's getting pretty exciting.

Is this you're way of admitting you were wrong?
The injuries helped us.  Had they stayed healthy, they probably would have won between 35-40.  Here's hoping they keep losing.  They could still make some moves to improve in the short-term.

This is pathetic. They lost Jack 4 games ago. They had been remarkably healthy before that including zero games missed from their best 2 players, yet where the third worst team in the league through 30+ games. Grow up. Kind of just losing any respect from anyone with this kind of post.

Exactly. He also posted several times before the year that as long as they don't lose Lopez, Young, or Johnson, for an extended period time, they'll be fine.

For a guy that's as wrong as often as LB is he really has a hard time admitting it. You would figure he'd be used to it by now.
TP for calling him out on his BS, there is just soo much of it to keep track of , ha ha
This is what I think of the guy in most of his threads.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=kfw21fmsVC8

I know he tries to be intentionally pessimistic and provocative, but trying to weasel out of a season long stance (plus the offseason) on this (that he has repeated with posts hundreds of times) is just kind of sad to see and disappointing, even given his known personality. The board is better when posters can acknowledge when they were off on something and not beat it to death when they were they right. Unfortunately Larbrd is on the wrong side of both of these equations (bumping threads where he said something that came true) and making up stuff to explain or excuse any false prediction. He is the only poster I have ever considered blocking just to not see the threads filled with nonsense. Being wrong really isn't that big of a deal. For example

- Smart is worse than I thought this year on offense
- David Lee is doing way worse than I thought he would
- Crowder is playing way better than I thought he could
- Sullinger is having a much worse year, and overall career than I thought he would
-Pierce is making much less of in impact than I thought he would
- The knicks will win many more games than I thought
...  i could go on all day

Everyone is wrong about 100's of things they would predict at the beginning of each season, even a super smart statistically minded person. Being able to say, hey I got that wrong makes the board so much more pleasant than people just digging in their heels and making up stuff.
I think weasel out is a bit strong. As the season has gone on he has consistently softened his stance in the threads I've read. I think on some occasions certain posters provoke him and he gives a reactionary response to spite them. So there's wrong on both sides.
Do you think it might help if I register LarBrd33Blog.com and have it forward to this forum?

I think there should be a sticky thread that's only about your predictions. Imagine a place where you can consolidate all your nonsense in one clean thread, free of all the clutter of actual reasoning and objectivity. That would be a fun place to visit where we would all be privileged to read about the greatness of Bennett, McLemore, and Stauskas, the Nets making the playoffs, Embiid's non-injury, Hinkie playing Jedi mind tricks on the NBA, while talking negatively about every single Celtic player.

You'd have to go back 10+ years and highlight the literally thousands of things I've said that were accurate.  I'm playing with house money.   It's part of the reason I have fans like you following my every word and desperately trying to find things I'm wrong about.  Get over it.

Really? Care to elaborate? All you ever say is some hypothetical trade years ago when you said Rondo should be traded for Curry. Anything more recent than 2011?

I have no interest in conversing with you about this further.  The number of times you have railroaded threads about the Celtics to declare my philly fandom and point out some out of context thing I said that makes me look stupid is excessive. I make myself look stupid plenty well without your help.  I'm pretty sure you have been suspended before for your insistence that I'm a philly fan. It's borderline harassment.   Get over it.  If you are new to these forums and weren't familiar with my insights into this team, that's your problem... Not mine.

Either I'm right every time or wrong either time. Either way, I'm battin 1000.

As far as this thread is concerned... All that matters is that I pegged this team winning 35-40 if they stayed healthy.  They haven't stayed healthy.  Good for us.  Hopefully they don't go on a win streak. The Brooklyn pick is one of the lone highlights about this season for us (along with Bradley and crowder making a case as long term starters in this league).

If you want to have these negative opinions on every asset we have (picks or players) while drooling on every average prospect a team has then you only open yourself up to the criticism you receive. Conversely, on those few occasions the broken clock is correct, you stop at nothing to marvel at your greatness.

You can't even admit you're wrong where it's plain as day for all to see. That speaks volumes, man. So, yes, I'll continue to call you out.

This is a 150+ page thread that a lot of people have invested a lot of time in.

Let's see if we can not get it locked over your personal differences guys. How about you take it to PM or knock it off.

Ed, it's hard for me to have a conversation with you due the amount of times you've ignored my points to make a dramatic warped interpretation of it, accused me of being a Philly fan, or jumped in on threads to basically say "OMG, LB33 is le wurst"... you're like a reverse Flavor Flav.  I don't need a reverse Flavor Flav.  Even your forum signature is an attempt to shame me.  Cut it out.

I'm a pessimistic person in general, but I've made many threads in the past discussing things about this team I'm excited about.  Ironically, I was pretty enthusiastic about David Lee... so yeah, so much for that... Lol.   But in the past, there's been plenty of things I've been thrilled with.  That said, it's super hard to be excited about this team right now.  We're stuck in the exact rut that we wanted to avoid... a borderline .500 team is a road towards perpetual mediocrity.  Our trade options seem dismal.  We lost out on the guys we targeted two drafts in a row.  Frankly, it's been discouraging. I'd rather we be really bad or really good... the position we are in right now is the NBA no-man's land.

But this Brooklyn pick... This Brooklyn pick is something.  It's worth getting excited about.  It's the highlight of this season.   But it's still too early for me to declare this a top 5 pick.   THey have 10 wins... the team with 15 wins would pick 10th... it wouldn't take much for Brooklyn to spoil our party.

I'm not going to take you up on your "shame LarBrd33 for his wrong opinion" thread... I'm not going to take you up on the "LarBrd33 proves he's not a total idiot" thread.  But... I tell you what... at some point, I'll create a thread about all the things I'm feeling optimistic about with Boston Celtics.   Ok?  Ok.

I am going to wade in and try to mediate Larbrd and Eddie.

Larbrd, you did post that you thought the Nets would be a playoff team.  If you did say "if healthy" which is a condition to any prediction about a team, it seemed to me you meant Lopez or Young who in fact have been healthy.  Every team has injuries and the Nets have no more than normal injuries; they have been pretty healthy.  Why don't you just concede to Eddie that you were wrong about the Nets (even if you don't mean it) and maybe he will stop stalking you.  I like your posts in general, you were one of the few early ones like me that saw through Rondo, but I think you are being stubborn on this one.  Just go back to being a thoughtful if a little eccentric poster and ignore Eddie.

Eddie, half your posts seems to be targeting Larbrd.  It is no fun to have all the long posts in threads that I am trying to read.  Sometimes it is fun to see a old post brought back up and waved in someone's face but you are going way overboard with it.  Larbrd thought the Nets would be good.  Ha Ha, that is funny.  OK, let's move on to something else.  You have some interesting takes sometimes.  Why are you bothering with this campaign against Larbrd.  No one cares that he thought the Nets would win 40 games and make the playoffs but I think everyone likes to see interesting takes.

I think chambers or someone has a quote from me in their signature admitting that Brooklyn is far worse than i expected and that their depth is terrible.  But lack of depth is magnified by injuries.  The season is long.  It's too early to declare the Brooklyn pick a lock for top 5.  Hopefully it will be though.

I changed the sig about 10 days ago, but Brd is correct. Over a month ago Brd snuck in a comment in this thread about how the Brooklyn  pick is starting to look like a top 5 pick. It was the same day Jefferson went down if I I'm correct.
My signature was something like 'You know it's time to get excited about the Brooklyn pick when....'
That wasn't a diss to LarBrd33 by any means, but he'd been heeding caution regarding that Nets pick for months, and it was a turning point for a lot of other pessimists regarding that pick and just how valuable it may become because their depth was just simply miserable.

But yes, he did indeed say that the pick was starting to look like it would be top 5 at least a month ago.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.
