Larbrd33 jinxed us when he finally started to believe how bad the Nets might be.

Please Larbrd33, go back to thinking the Nets are a playoff team.

Lol we're an unlucky fan base on this forum. Whatever we discuss ends up being jinxed. Let's all praise the Nets!
We might have to unless Lar picks up the slack again.
Assuming they make the playoffs (which they likely will), ya'll probably deserve it for counting your chickens with these "who do we take if the pick ends up 2-4?" and "the Brooklyn pick is our most valuable trade asset" threads.  This is on you, CelticsBlog forum... not me.

No, but honestly, the blame falls on the Boston fans chanting "Brooklyn Draft Pick" a day before the Nets embarrassed us with a double-digit beatdown.   They've won 3 out of 4 since that game.  The fans angered the basketball karma gods and lit a fire under a sleeping giant.  The fans gave Brooklyn a goal this season:  Spoil Boston's Party.
Much better. We got our Larbrd back.

The Nets are even the best free agent destination in their own city!

What, we're breaking New York down by boroughs now?

(Yes, I know what you meant.)  ;)

Mike
stupid typos lol. Thanks for pointing this out, I just fixed it.

TP those are great results as protection for our top 5 pick!
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

The NBA is a strange league.

Denver was on a 7 game losing streak, but managed to beat Toronto at home.  Despite some errors, they played really solid defense down the stretch of that game to hold on to the win.

Even the Kings, who looked absolutely terrible tonight, were 6-5 over their previous 9 games before we just beat them.

Glad to see Portland and Denver picking up wins tonight.

Welp .... maybe Ainge can turn the 3 or 4 picks in the 10-20 range the Celts will have in this next draft into a prospect he really likes.

Didn't work last year, but maybe it will work this time around.  We can't use all those draft picks anyway.

The Nets win two in a row, and their pick is now destined to be "in the 10-20 range"?

Let me remind you, they still have the fourth worst record in the League.

They're also, what, 5-7 in the last few weeks?

Look out for the Nets!!!

They are still ~6 games off the 8th seed in a mysteriously strong Eastern Conference. Plus there is loads of basketball to play, and a trade deadline where all kinds of fireworks could go off. Could swing either way

Let's hope that Carmelo and Porzingis gets hot tomorrow. They are closing in with Washington, New Orleans, Milwaukee, Denver and Sacramento.

Not to mention Brooklyn getting within an unlucky basket of knocking off GS in Oakland and Cleveland at home.

This season is stranger than the officiating in the NFL. The west is bad, the east is good, the Knicks made a good draft pick and I've never spent so much time rooting for teams other than the Celtics to win.

For those fretting that the Nets are an incredible 5-13, take solace in knowing they've had remarkable health so far this season.  Of what looks to be their 10 rotation players, now that Markel Brown has lost his spot, they've missed a total of 3 out 180 possible games played.  There aren't really any other teams close to that level of health.  These things tend to even out, so it says something that they're 5-13 while very healthy.

It's pretty funny isn't it?  I obsess about Brooklyn and Minnesota as much as I do the Celtics.  I have to admit that I've become a fan of the T-Pups. With KG and all of that young talent I find that team very compelling.

Please don't include any facts in discussion of the events. We have a large number of posters that find this really upsetting cause they are more invested in their preseason prediction being accurate than the actual results.

Actually, they've missed only 2. I believe Ellington's was a DNP-CD.

Does this mean you are rooting for the Knicks to lose tonight so you can gleefully come on here and trot out the argument that their top 5 is solid?

I must admit my preseason prediction was 30 wins for the Nets if they stayed pretty healthy, so I understand the temptation.
