Yeah, the CT scan definitely happened and revealed that the healing was "whatever vague term they used to say happening slower than they wanted." Joel Embiid's agent is sure as heck not gonna let this splash across headlines if it isn't true, because if he's got to negotiate a contract down the line this definitely isn't upping any offers. 

Are the Sixers going to try to use the uncertainty to their advantage? Possibly? Wouldn't surprise me given their history, and they may try to control the leaks coming out in a certain manner or whatever. Nobody knows for sure, but the medical issue itself is definitely real.

All of those things you calimed were factors would have impacted the Celtics as well. Personally, I don't think they're a big deal at all as some of them(Karma) don't make any sense whatsoever.

He was the most talented player in the draft, and it wasn't close. Big men have recovered from that injury before. Kevin McHale and Big Z in particular. Big men have been ravaged by it as well. Yao and Walton to name a few. Maybe he doesn't pan out, who knows? It was a risk and one I was good with the Sixers taking because if anybody can sustain a missed draft choice early on it's them.

He was the most talented player in the draft, and it wasn't close. Big men have recovered from that injury before. Kevin McHale and Big Z in particular. Big men have been ravaged by it as well. Yao and Walton to name a few. Maybe he doesn't pan out, who knows? It was a risk and one I was good with the Sixers taking because if anybody can sustain a missed draft choice early on it's them.

And the Payton trade was a fleecing, they got their own first round pick to move back two spots and take a better prospect.

I don't care much for your points. Drafting Embiid was stupid. It's a fact. I love how you're saying they have the assets to trade for Cousins. So if they do, why haven't they tried??? They haven't even reported to have interest. The other thing you're not getting is that Agent's typically decide where a player gets traded. Sorry bro, but no one is going to want to play for Philly.

We'll see in the future which team is better. If the Celtics are, I would love to see what you have to say then. You better be shaking dude, because the Celtics are going to be better than the sixers, and when they are, everyone here will remember your stubbornness.

He is not really being that stubborn. He actually admits more flaws with some of the things the 76ers have done than some of the celtics fans on here (he has also admitted he is a philly fan). If this stuff bothers you that much you should have seen the threads pumping up philly's role players or Larbrd's posts comparing Noel to Anthony Davis.

Sixers fans and LABRD33 are hilarious. Stop being in denial, this is a major problem for the Sixers. Do you know how long it is going to take for Porzingus or Russell to be good?

John Wall was the #1 overall pick, look how long it took him to be as good as he is now. So basically, you're saying that the strategy of sucking for 6 to 7 years is the way to go? How does that make any sense? Look, I wanted the Celtics to tank, but not the way the Sixers did. That's just bad karma and you create a terrible culture. Players don't develop that way. You keep talking about how amazing Noel has been, but it's like dude, his team sucks. Who cares? Demarcus Cousin is way better than him right now and the Kings suck. Do you realize how hard it is to build a contender? Your obsession with Noel makes no sense, who by the way is basically WCS. A player who brings rim protection and elite defense. Great, now find a scorer. You're a Celtics fan, you of all people should know that is the toughest shoe to fill.

Basically, the sixers have sucked for two years under Hinkie, and they will probably suck for at least two more years. And then they'll be 500 maybe, and then by year like 10, they may be contenders. So yeah, good luck with that.

In the end, we will see who is right. If the Celtics are a contender before the Sixers, LABRD33 should be banned from this board, seriously.

 Should be noted that as of right now, Embiid's immediate future is still uncertain... until we have word of his season being over, I have to assume this is similar to the situation in March when he was put in a protective boot.  Last I heard, his doctor wouldn't have clear results until right after the NBA draft.  Lol.

I think when you have the 3rd pick in one of the most important drafts in franchise history, you logically have to weight the upside with the downside. To me, the risk was way too high. Even if Exum or Smart or Randle never becomes a superstar, it's still better than having NOTHING to show for the 3rd pick.

I said at the time, I wouldn't regret it if Embiid became a superstar with LA or Boston, if it did, that sucks but oh well.

Basically, the Sixers were at a bar trying to get laid. They had a pickup line that was majorly risky, but if it works it guarantees them to get laid and get laid by a girl who is a 10/10 and it would be the best sex ever in their lives. However, they could very well get rejected and walk away with nothing.

Or they could go up to some average 5/10 and not only not get laid, but just get a kiss on the cheek. For that, you might as well not even get anything.

I tend to agree with Guy #2... We would have gladly taken Embiid last season post-injury.   Ainge would have gladly traded up from #6 to snag him.  Now a year later and we're being told he's probably missing summer league?  I fail to see how his situation is worse than it was a year ago... he's a year closer to recovery than he was last season.  Dude looks like he's about ready to suit up.   Unless i hear something more serious, I'll continue to say I'd gladly trade Marcus Smart, #16 and #28 for Embiid... but this is because I assume Embiid will be ready at the start of the NBA season.  Until I'm told otherwise, that's my stance.  Clearly, I wouldn't make that trade until getting word from doctors on Embiid's immediate future.  Him being in a protective boot is whatever... Kevin Durant is in a protective boot right now too... as far as I know, Durant is still a couple months away from even practicing.   I'd still trade for Durant, tho.
