No, I'd rather gamble on Okafor (or other draft pick) rather than trade for Cousins

How could you not want this guy?

(Notice the score, and he's still hustling.)

It's unfair for a guy that big to be able to run the floor like that.

Great news!

I was worried that george karl would go to the kings and help them out, but apparently cousins doesnt approve. However, the kings might hire him anyway

Looking good for potential trade partners

so the knucklehead doesn't want to play for a proven NBA coach. He probably thinks he might have to listen and actually take direction from someone.

This guy has I'm bigger then my teammates, my coaches, and the NBA written all over him.

You basically have to coach the rest of the team to play around him and let him do his thing which is what he's been doing since he's been in the league. And that hasn't been working out for him.

I could never root for this guy. He's the biggest cry baby and will only play hard if he wants to.

Didn't Rajon get accused of just about all of that stuff?

Wait, when did we start talking about rondo?

Just kidding, but i can definitely see why there are C's fans here who are worried about Cousins and his attitude

Lets break this down.

Rondo doesn't make a huge production on the floor every time something doesn't go his way. He might do something stupid like throwing the ball at the ref out of frustration. But he doesn't throw his arms in the air 10 times a game like Cousins.

Second. There is a difference between questioning a coach and not being coachable. Doc Rivers always gave Rondo praise for being able to run his stuff. He also never gave Stevens any problems and has been trying to run Carlisle's system. From the get, he said he wanted to learn all their plays. That sounds like a guy who wants to work with the coach.

Third. Say whatever you want about Rondo's comments earlier this season, but you can't name many players who have his passion and competitiveness. He wants to win all the time. Not when he feels like it, like Cousins.

I love rondo, but sometimes his emotions would also jeopardize the good of the team. Remember 'bump gate'? He cost himself an entire game in the playoffs for that.

i see both rondo and cousins as big time talents who can be very emotional, and just want to win. Rondo was fortunate enough to win BIG his second year in the league! Cousins is becoming easily one of the best players in the game, and hasn't even had the chance to be in the playoffs (partially because he's been on bad teams, and partially because he's in the west)

Also, Rondo epitomized the notion of 'playing hard when you feel like it'

if Rondo hurt his team, it would had been unintentionally because he got fired up. He's not out there pouting and crying and checking out on teammates. These two dudes are completely different.

Rondo did his share of "checking out".  I mean, he admitted to not playing defense for an entire season.  How is that not "checking out on teammates"?  He allegedly marginalized Ray in the offense.  He was outwardly insubordinate (refusing to report to the Kings game to go to his birthday party).  He clashed with Doc.

Does that mean I wouldn't want Rondo on my team?  Nope, I liked him a lot.  He's got fire, and with the proper supporting cast, he's going to thrive.  However, I don't see him at all differently than DeMarcus Cousins, except that Cousins has been more consistently excellent recently on both sides of the ball.

There are divas, and then there are guys who just legitimately hate losing.  I think that Rondo and Cousins fit a bit into the first category, but mostly into the second.

Im a huge Cousins fan, and I agree he is just misunderstood. I think he will thrive here in Boston. If we had him and smart, we're only a couple of pieces left from contending.

Maybe Rondo could be a stubborn jerk.  I would rather have that than a whining crybaby.

I would take both of them.  I think that both of them would feed off of each other, in a good way.

He's going to want to play on a team that wins more than 30 games, seems like he's getting sick of being a loser, or he's just a Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. all the time.

Rondo has to worry about fixing his jumper first. But yeah, I somewhat agree with you. Rondo is certainly no pushover and might just be the guy to get through to Cousins.
