I'm reading the ESPN article.

Are we seriously  just giving up a 2nd rounder for that haul?

If so...

So are we using the TE on this trade or do we still have it?

Boston gets: Marcus Thornton-Tyler Zeller, Cavs 2016 protected pick. Top 10 in '16, '17 or '18. Unprotected in '19.

Jesus.  The NBA is the worst.   Sitting here cheering over draft picks that might not be used for five years and expiring contracts.  Nothing to do with a good basketball player or getting a good team.   It's frustrating to like basketball.

Cleveland's first rounder, not NJ's. edit: Brooklyns.

I don't see why the Nets do this to help out the Cavs, though.

They want Jack.

just thoughts on Zeller from a UNC fan.  He played with an elite passing PG his senior year in college with Kendall Marshall and he was dominate!! He runs the floor really well and he has great hands and a nice little hook shot with either hand.  Not much of a shot blocker but is very good at taking charges on defense.  If Rondo is still on this team with Zeller, no big man on this team will benefit more than Zeller, wait until you see him run...

He has a decent shot from either elbow and he is a solid free throw shooter.  I think he can be a solid C in the NBA, this is a good move for the C's and I am happy they have a Tarheel....

I hope Thornton never sees the court for the Celtics. Zeller is a serviceable center who can probably give the C's a decent 20-25 minutes per game. As far as Love goes, I think if James goes to Cleveland, the Cavs are also going to end up with Love. I like the move mainly because it brings in more assets and it gives the C's a decent center.

I don't see how the Cavs can get Love.  They won't have the money.   They had to give away Jack just to clear space for Bron...

Blame the CBA for making GM's just as popular as the players.

You can always go down to the park and find a pickup game if that's not your bag. It is summer, after all.

Zeller's ceiling is what? Average second-string center?

Oh, yeah, I know that. I just can't figure out why.  :D

(full disclosure: I'm aware they lost Shaun Livingston Seagull to the Warriors).

Can't really be upset about this deal. A kinda decent young center we can work with, a chance at a decent pick after this next draft class and even Marcus Thornton wouldn't be so bad if we didn't already have the guard rotation we presently have.

so we get a serviceable "back up" C(arguable) and we're all jumping for joy? that pick seems all but useless unless it ends up being part of a trade.

as it looks now we're going to be starting 5 guards(and looking to add more) apparently...and we still have bass, green & Wallace.

I'm usually a lot more positive and don't overreact but Danny's got me scratching my head this summer.
