Paul Flannery ?@Pflanns
Working on details. C's would only send out a protected second rounder in the deal, per source. First rounder coming from Cleveland.

  • Let's Go Celtics!
There's the center.

And we pretty much owning all of the Nets picks...LOL.
Pick almost certainly coming from the Cavs (or one of the ones they own anyways).  They had to include assets to dump Jack, Jeremy Lin style.  Luckily BKN is a part of it too though so we can just take on an expiring in Thornton as opposed to a 2 year deal in Jack.

No brainer move for Celtics, and exactly the type of move a team that's tanking/rebuilding should be using their TPE and non-guaranteed contracts for.

I'm assuming we're using the TPE.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

Decent deal for us, since we weren't going to make fireworks.  A young bench center and a #1, for taking on a salary dump.

Come on, Lebron.  Go back home where you belong.

hmm...could we flip anything to Minnesota for Love? doesnt seem like much assets Minnesota would want though.

At some point if you aren't getting someone you really like, there are just two many first round picks to say no.

Or then, we can apply that to other teams.  Might be enough to get the Wolves a guy they want.

Just more assets, whatever happens.

I'm assuming so too, though we do have enough non-guaranteed contracts that we could take on Thornton for Bogans/Babb/Pressey/C.Johnson too.  But since the TPE expires Saturday, most likely it's the TPE and we save Bogans/Babb/Pressey/C.Johnson to explore another deal like this to continue stockpiling assets.

Thank god! Something real to talk about! Any deal that gets me a 1st rounder from Cleveland and I'm IN. Those things are like leprechaun gold

Also- which Zeller is this again? Is it the handsome one, the lousy one, or the other one?

I don't think Jarrett Jack is a good acquisition for Brooklyn.

Nets desperately need some quickness and athleticism. Not another slowish guard.

Cavs have Miamis 1st rd pick next year too! So hopefully we get the higher of the picks.

Absolutely certain the pick is coming from Cleveland.  The Nets are taking on the salary dump from Cleveland; no need for them to send out a first.

This is quite probable, but the Nets were very high on Jack and they are intent on competing so I don't think they view this as a salary dump but an upgrade in roster.

Nah, they wanted Jack, but they weren't trading a first for him - epecially when everyone knew Cleveland was desperate to dump his contract.  The first is certainly from Cleveland, who've got a plethora of picks to spare.

still a long shot in my honest opinion, but we gain ONE more first round pick with expiring...if we can somehow get a sign and trade with Lance Stephenson and throw in a couple of 1st rounders

If this "first pick" is from the Cavs, I'd flip that in a heartbeat, if I know Lebron is going back...

I think the Nets pick becomes more valuable while the Cavalier's first pick will just lose value if Lebron returns

Logjam at guard, the other shoe is about to fall.

I think this clear space to sign James for the Cavs.

Twitter says Cleveland's 2016 #1.  I'd obviously prefer one of their other picks, particularly the Memphis selection.  Even their Miami #1 could end up decent.

Is this just for TPE? If so, we just raped this trade. Nice haul, DA!
