I'm sure there are plenty of plans, but all the plans depend on who is available and at what price (either via FA or trade).

The biggest plan of all is to continue to gather assets, wait, and pounce when there's someone good available at a good price.

We are in year one of a rebuild. Realize that rebuilds take many, many years ( look at the 10 year rebuild Morey has been doing in Houston).

By the way, the move the Cs are probably hoping to make in the early part of the summer is to use the TPE to help some team land a star player, netting a prospect or draft pick plus expiring contract in return.
Celtics fan for life.

is there any way we can get rid of Bass? I would think he would be the next to go if we can find a team looking for a back up big who can give you 10-12ppg

I don't think we will see the Celts being competitive in the following years certainly not entering the playoffs. Dark ages for the Celts again. Oh boy.

It was bad business to sign Avery to an 8mil a year deal. But signing avery was not bad, just the amount we owe him. the same with Jeff Green. We could have signed him for 5 mil a year, but we paid what we thought he could eventually become. Thats bad business too.

I don't know, after hearing the rumor that Hayward might get $15M, that $9.4M for Green is looking to me like a good value and Bradley for $8M, not as bad as it may have first looked.

A lot can still happen.  I suspect that we are still open to talking to Minni (who knows what they are thinking though), and based on the rumor that we reached out to Thomas, Sacramento discussions may still be going on.   I think a Smith to Sac deal could be a catalyst to some other things.

I don't think that teams like Sac and Det are concerned about what LeBron and Carmelo do but other teams may come asking about Rondo, Bass, Green once we know where some of the big guns are going to end up.

I also wonder if summer league performances could impact interest in some of our young players.  For example, if KO looks really good or even Smart.  Maybe that could increase interest from a team like Minni.

I'm thinking that if we fans could see Danny's plan clear as day ... then so could other GMs.

The only thing I've been very certain of for several years now is that the real full reboot of the roster wouldn't be until 2015-16 -- because way back when, that is when Danny set up all his contracts towards.  Even if he had NOT traded KG & Pierce & Terry (and Lee and others, for that matter) away, all their contracts would be up by next summer.   Of all the 'old' contracts from that era, only Green's player option year would have extended past then.

And that still looks like the right timeline.  Even right now, having resigned Bradley, the only major contracts extending into 2015 are Wallace, Green & Bradley.   Obviously the rookie contracts as well, but they are relatively small.

It's possible the schedule could get a premature boost if the Love trade (or some other major trade) somehow still went through this summer.  But even that sort of transformation wouldn't be complete until next year when he (assuming he came here) was resigned.

NBA Officiating - Corrupt?  Incompetent?  Which is worse?  Does it matter?  It sucks.
