It was bad business to sign Avery to an 8mil a year deal. But signing avery was not bad, just the amount we owe him. the same with Jeff Green. We could have signed him for 5 mil a year, but we paid what we thought he could eventually become. Thats bad business too.

I think they are still trying to build/acquire assets while at the same time build a decent team. It's hard to see it at the moment, the AB signing is puzzling IMO, but guess I have to wait and see. The most frustrating thing for me is if they don't come out with a decent center. Right now I'd do backflips for Jordan Hill, while last week he wasn't on my mind.

Hopefully we come out better at the end, if our starting bigs are Bass and Hump again, I will be VERY disappointed.

Bradley is not needed, but a young center is.

Unless you want to tank next season and draft a center.

I think we paid him what we knew he would get from another team.

The C's didn't want to regret waiting and having to make a tough decision when another team would decide to actually overpay for Bradley - and they definitely didn't want to lose him.

I do not know if he would have gotten that from another team, but if a team was willing to overpay for Bradley then yes we should let him walk, not overpay ourselves.

I'm sure they had some plans, but I believe most of them already fell through.  WE will probably wait out the Kevin Love thing as long as possible and then eventually trade Rondo when we lose out on him.

You really seem adamant about the celtics doing a long rebuild. Based on our roster now, that doesn't seem likely. What would we be Trading rondo for? His value seems to be pretty low at the moment coming of an injury filled season where he didnt look great without kg or pierce. I doubt a team would even trade a top ten pick for him right under contract for two years and looking bad.

Just wondering, when can the C's trade the Rookies if they wanted to land Love? is it January?

If you don't sign a player, you can trade his draft rights at any time.  If you sign a draft pick, you have to wait 30 days.

I think everything was planned and the plans Danny wanted to come through are just not going to happen.  Tankapalooza II.

Yeah ....I think this year is pretty much a write off as anything memorable

I just don't see Celtics getting serious till the crap player Wallace we received is gone so we can use his pay to to get a REAL NBA player for his stupid money.

Too many overpaid people and nothing in terms of elite talent to show  for it.

So just keep resigning the go no where players for big contracts

We will take what we can get for rondo if the alternative is losing him for nothing. And yes, it appears this is a long term rebuild. We are still in year 1 of a process that most optimistically say should take 3-5 years

There is no quick fix here. This team is garbage.  It's going to take time and luck.

I like our team. I like our direction. I love our cache of future picks. Eager to see how we fill out the roster.

Before we lose Rondo for nothing, or trade him at the deadline for a young player and a draft pick, maybe we should look into the Rondo for Stephenson trade.

I know he is crazy, but we could use that to our advantage and be the new Bad Boys.  Bring over Colton Iverson.  Sign a shot blocker like Davis or Udoh.  Bring in an enforcer at PF if Bass moves on, a veteran locker room leader type.

Starting Stepenson, Smart, and Green with Wallace and Bradley off the bench- no one will score on us.  Give Young some time in the D league early on.

We would at the very least be a team that gets after people.  Stephenson, Smart, and Green can all score the ball.  If Olynyk or Sullinger can give us some points in the paint, we could be a good team.

personally I think that the signing of Bradley is leading towards something else. We still arent out of the love chase. Last I checked he is still wearing a timberwolves jersey.

I'm sure there are plenty of plans, but all the plans depend on who is available and at what price (either via FA or trade).

The biggest plan of all is to continue to gather assets, wait, and pounce when there's someone good available at a good price.

We are in year one of a rebuild. Realize that rebuilds take many, many years ( look at the 10 year rebuild Morey has been doing in Houston).
