Tried but no cigar.

Team has to trade rondo .

Why?

For who?  What's the grand solution here?

This year has always been a rebuilding year, it only wasn't for a brief weekend when Love was here.

I think the most frequently used word in Danny's planning manual is "If".   There are so many possible twists and turns that can occur over the next 6 weeks or so that anything could happen.  I think the slow build (or 'tank', depending on how full your glass is) is going to be the constant failsafe approach. Yes, I know it is not actually fail safe, but it is a reliable stated end game simply because it is a road that has an acceptable chance for long-term success, especially given the future assetts available to use or trade.  BUT, Danny likely has plans A-Z (or at least many ideas) lined up and also has plans yet unknown that will emerge as the landscape makes its inevitable changes.

One year of rebuilding and the fans have lost their minds.

It wasn't that long ago when Dino Radja was the best player they had and as kids we had to try and get excited about Acie Earl and Eric Montross.

Rebuilds are slow, just like a home, i would prefer a strong foundation that will last.  Ainge gave us a huge jump start with the KG/Pierce/Terry Nets deal and already this season he given us more assets and versatility.  Signing AB is part of the plan...don't pretend like their isn't a strategy here.

I agree with you completely.  The days of quick turnarounds (Russell to Cowens to Bird) are long gone.  Only the Lakers can count on FAs coming their way even when the team is bad.

I'd be ok with the roster if we had a decent sf and not Jeff green or if Jeff green played to his potential.  This team needs a go to guy.  Smart may be that person but I often see the sf types in that role.  Maybe sleepy will fit into his role as 3rd option now that maybe we have a guy that's not afraid to drive the lane on a nightly basis.

I call Jeff Green, Mr. October.

Because he plays every game like it is preseason.

I think they are still trying to build/acquire assets while at the same time build a decent team. It's hard to see it at the moment, the AB signing is puzzling IMO, but guess I have to wait and see. The most frustrating thing for me is if they don't come out with a decent center. Right now I'd do backflips for Jordan Hill, while last week he wasn't on my mind.

Hopefully we come out better at the end, if our starting bigs are Bass and Hump again, I will be VERY disappointed.

AB is 23 and showed solid growth last year.  People can question his health but other than that he has been solid.  If Smart can become an All-Star type player AB is young enough and skilled enough to fit nicely at his side, until Young might be prepared to take that spot.

As for a center....Who's out there?  I spend hours a day reading articles, looking at rosters, scanning hoops hype/ basketball insiders and I haven't read about anyone being available.  Remember our window is closed and we are not looking for a 30+ year old..we are building for a new window that looks to be 3-4 years down the road.  I'm just glad we drafted nice players to watch develop and who are willing to battle.

I would be pretty disappointed if this was it for the C's offseason. Our biggest acquisitions would be Smart and Bradley, and the rest of the roster would remain largely the same.

More can happen. We have the trade exception. We have the bogans exception. We can S+T hump. We likely have to wait for the melo drama and heat situation to subside. Once those dominos fall I think we will see more Celtic activity.

Just wondering, when can the C's trade the Rookies if they wanted to land Love? is it January?
