Leprechauns Reluctantly Part Ways with Bennett

Mark Steinberg, FSPN.com

BELLEVUE, WA - As reported via Flutter by FSPN's Chaz Buick, the Leprechauns have agreed to a trade shipping out star big man prospect Tony Bennett for a future draft pick.  The move was motivated by the Leprechaun's desperation to free up roster space for two upcoming draftees (widely expected to be Karl Anthony-Towns and Jahlil Okafor).  I'm told the Leprechauns genuinely loved their team of prospects and that the team's braintrust had much disagreement about which player would be the "necessary sacrifice".   After luke-warm interest in star talent such as Bismack Biyombo, the team reluctantly moved the former #1 pick.   Said LarBrd33 in a brief statement, "We truly believe Bennett has a future in this league and we hoped it would be in Bellevue.  Unfortunately, our gluttony of assets forced us into some tough choices this Summer.  I told Tony on his way out that roster shifts are common around here and there's a chance we'll eventually bring him back.  He's made some outstanding progress this Summer.  We'll genuinely miss him and hope this doesn't impact his confidence in any way."    Bennett had previously been acquired, traded and then re-acquired by the team.  Some hope in Bellevue remained that the young budding star would eventually find his way back to the team.

The trade marks the first of Diggles tenure as GM of the Disciples.  Chaz Buick reported on Saturday that, "Disciples have turned down numerous offers for Carmelo Anthony. I'm told that new ownership is committed to building around him and blames previous failures on negligence. Team expects a top 5 finish next season."  It is believed that the team saw Anthony Bennett and Alexey Shved as quality building blocks as it looks to make a splash next season in what they expect to be a Top-tier finish.

"BELIEVE IN BELLEVUE" Motto for Young Team's Potential.
Nairda Iksworanjow - Whacko! Sports

BELLEVUE, WA - As the young Bellevue Leprechauns struggle to find an identity, a team that has spent the past two seasons preaching patience appears to have changed their tune.  In what many see as a desperate and transparent bid to up record-low ticket sales, the team has reportedly invested 90% of their budget on marketing.

Results of this effort appeared over the weekend as thousands of stickers featuring star prospect Bismack Biyombo suddenly littered the city streets.  In and around the city, 168 billboards were erected featuring a prominent banner.  State-wide, the walls of several hundred thousand buildings were plastered with bright orange posters encouraging the population to "Believe in Bellevue":

It is believed that the legendary street artist, Denis998, is behind the poster and banner designs.  Hot off the heels of acquiring stars Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton, the young team does have some reason for optimism.  The two players will be joined next season by previously injured prospects Joel Embiid, Jabari Parker and Julius Randle as well as the top two draftees this Summer (widely believed to be Karl Anthony-Towns and Jahlil Okafor).  Still, others doubt the ceiling of injured players and raw prospects and the potential for a team where the oldest player is a mere 24 years of age.  Said GM of the team, LarBrd33, in a brief statement:  "We have the youngest and most exciting foundation in the league.  We ask you to believe in us.  Believe in Bellevue."

Reasoning?  "Dislike for Bellevue" doesn't seem like a valid use of a veto vote.  It's a pretty straight-forward trade.  Disciples believes his team is finishing top 5-10 and is blaming the team's lack of success on Fitz's inactivity.   Bennett is a young player with tons of potential who was taken 1st.  I gave up my own 2nd next year and #36 as well.   By Summer league I'll probably regret moving Bennett.

How do you know it's not dislike of Disciples? It would seem if dislike of you were the reason you would have had several other vetoes, right?

Seems incredibly one sided to me.  Bennett is waiver wire fodder IMO, shved is nothing special.  36 is 4 picks from waiver wire.

Eja, you admit to voting veto on every trade I attempt.   FYI, Fitz doesn't run the Disciples anymore.  Just a heads up.

Just a PSA, the link in my signature goes to that microsite.  Offseason tracking sheet is accessible there.  As well as the rules, tourneys, flutter, etc.   I post pretty frequently here so it should never be too difficult to find that link.

When and where did I admit that? Please show us this. Seems to me you have made several trades here that nobody vetoed.

I am well aware that Fitz isn't that GM anymore.

And I just want to remind everyone that technically dislike or extreme pettiness or sensing a disturbance in the Force, or trying to change the future so Skynet won't kill us are all equally valid reasons for vetoes according to the league constitution at this time

The obscene undervaluing of my assets continues.   By your own admission you vote to veto every trade I attempt, because I'm "Getting too much" and then subsequently throw a temper tantrum when I try trading you those assets.   Either my assets suck or they are amazing depending on which agenda you're attempting to push.   Disciples are confident they will finish in the top tier next season.  Anthony Bennett alone has significantly more potential than whatever player will be net with a 2016 #10-20 pick.  If I wasnt' in a roster crunch, it would make more sense to keep Bennett.  Is what it is.

Collective veto power is intended to prevent intentionally league-damaging trades or collusion... not to perpetuate petty grudges.

In my opinion, the trade is highly one sided. It's two waiver wire players and one waiver wire level pick (#36) for what will likely be a lottery pick. If that's vetoable or not, I'll let other people decide. But that basically is what the trade is.

Give it a rest, eja.
Please show us by my "admission" I "vote to veto every trade" you attempt.  Please show this or state that this is wrong.

Either do one of those or I will definitely start voting to veto every trade you make.

Clock's ticking. I'm not going to wait all day on this.
