Love is awesome, but is GS THAT much better if they lose Klay, Lee, and Barnes? That's a lot of production.
*CB Miami Heat*
Kyle Lowry, Dwayne Wade, 13th pick in even numbered rounds, 18th pick in odd numbered rounds.

David Lee is owed $30+ million over the next two years.  Kevin Martin is owed about $21 million over the next three years.  Yeah, if I'm Minnesota, there's no way in hell I'm accepting that I need to include a first to dump Martin for no immediate financial relief when I'm also trading you Kevin Love.

Which is a moot point, anyway, since that first can't be traded.

The player can be, though. Don't act like you didn't know that.

Of course I know that.  But you don't leak stuff like that before the draft since that's illegal, unless you want the league investigating you like they did with Doc Rivers and the Clippers.

Its not illegal to discuss the trade, its illegal to have the trade call with the league and make it official.

Everything is above board here, you can agree to and leak an agreement in principal all you want.

But it's definitely not over yet.

Thompson is becoming super overrated.

How so? The guys still only 24, has shot above 40% from 3 his whole career (something that his proved to be extremely valuable in todays NBA), plays solid D, and already has some playoff experience.

Although I don't think he and David Lee alone are worth Kevin Love. The Wolves should try and hold out for Draymond Green or Harrison Barnes.

I am willing to bet it's illegal to blatantly circumvent a league rule that prevents you from trading away future draft picks by offering to make a pick for a team and then trading said pick away.  By all means, if you have previous examples of this, show them to me.

Don't think this is close to being over. Sources coming out saying that Flip doesn't want to include the 13th pick. One saying that Minnys counter offer is to include Klay. This is very interesting. Wouldn't be surprised in the least if you hear this fall apart soon and tonight or tomorrow talks with Boston intensify.

"If this (Kevin Love/Klay Thompson trade) happens, I will have to talk (Klay) down from the ledge,? Mychal Thompson said on @ESPNLA710.

Mychal Thompson then said that he likes #Twolves coach Flip Saunders and Klay's chance to receive passes from Ricky Rubio. HT: @ESPNLA710.

Your username is perks-a-beast, perhaps you are not the best judge of what qualifies as overrating a player.

All these rumors are getting crazy.  Why would Minn give up their lottery pick in this draft to sweeten a deal for Kevin Love to GS?  If they are going to make insane moves like they

I admit I like Klay as a developing player, but he isn't there yet.  He is also the recipient of a lot of really good looks at the basket because everyone is preoccupied trying to run Curry off the 3 point line.  Pairing Klay w/ Rubio isn't going to help Klay get more open looks.  He may very well regress from this year in that situation.
tp for this thought
jeff green took heat this year for being our leading scorer but not scoring MORE
we didn't really have enough offensive options (please don't say bradley jacking shots) so defenses could key in on green more
rubio is a pretty passer but his shooting is poor, curry is one of the two best shooters in nba and klay had many an open look because of this

I doubt Mychal and Klay will like all of the extra defenders in his face that are sagging off Rubio because he can't hit a jumpshot.

Are you joking? That's the whole point of  the 'agreed in principle' clause that's attached to these reports. It's perfectly legal to trade players after you've drafted them.

But, since you're unwilling to do even some cursory legwork (the rule is explicitly about trading "future" first round picks in consecutive years, and not players picked with those picks), the Lakers are a great example:

2008 - Pick traded to Memphis as part of Gasol trade.
2009 - Pick traded to Knicks for cash and a future second rounder
2010 - Pick traded to Memphis as part of Gasol trade
2011 - Pick traded to Brooklyn as part of Vujacic trade
2012 - Pick traded to Cleveland as part of Sessions trade
2013 - Pick traded to Phoenix as part of Nash trade
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.
