Real talk, no snarkiness about Love: I also think you guys are underestimating how bad Kevin Martin's contract is relative to his production -- think about the 1st rounder as the cost of getting rid of him.

Thompson + Lee for Love is ok, if the Wolves are looking for players who can contribute to a possible 8th seed run tomorrow.

Pricing the cost of Getting rid of Martin in exchange as a first round pick is right up the Dubs alley -- remember, they bailed on Jefferson and Beidrins the same way.

That argument doesn't really hold much weight when you consider that the Warriors would also be dumping Lee on the Wolves.  It's just a swapping of bad contracts.

At any rate, the report's most untrue and I would bet anything that if a Warriors-Wolves deal does transpire, it'll be much more similar to what Thompson said on the radio: Lee, Thompson, Barnes/Green + 2015 1st.

It's not, though, when you consider the fact that Lee's deal is a year shorter than Martin's.

Lee's deal is also far, far more expensive.  He will make literally over twice as much as Martin in his last year.

Please, please go to Golden State so this can be over.  If it goes through, the Warriors could turn into a less athletic version of those Steve Nash-led Suns teams.  A team with Curry, Martin, and Love in their starting lineup?  I think it's safe to say that defense will definitely be their calling card  ;)

Which doesn't matter nearly as much as you might think, considering how much larger the salary cap will be.

David Lee is owed $30+ million over the next two years.  Kevin Martin is owed about $21 million over the next three years.  Yeah, if I'm Minnesota, there's no way in hell I'm accepting that I need to include a first to dump Martin for no immediate financial relief when I'm also trading you Kevin Love.

Which is a moot point, anyway, since that first can't be traded.

Kevin Martin scored 19 pts per game last season while shooting 43%/39%/89%. For an average of under $7m per season, that's actually pretty good.

If you have to give up a lottery pick to "get rid" that, then no wonder we couldn't find any takers for Brandon Bass last year.

Wonder if the leaked package is what GS is offering to Minny.  Seems like it would make sense since it seems so favorable to the Warriors.

The player can be, though. Don't act like you didn't know that.

YES!!!

Thank you Minnesota and Golden State for doing the right thing for the Celtics franchise. It might pain some posters here but the Celtics will be a great team in 3-4 years after they finally blow it up this offseason!

Enjoy

Last year was one of the most exciting in recent memory. You didn't have a bunch of dinosaurs running up and down the court. Lots of athleticism. Love having the war chest of picks more so than Kevin Love.

Which resulted in a 25 win season.

Thompson is becoming super overrated.
PHX Suns: Russell Westbrook, Chris Bosh, Tristan Thompson, Trevor Ariza, Tony Allen, Trey Lyles, Corey Brewer, Larry Nance Jr., Trey Burke, Troy Daniels, Joffrey Lauvergne, Justin Holiday, Mike Muscala, 14.6

This would make GSW quite good, maybe even good enough to take down the Spurs or Thunder. Biggest problem is that Bogut, Love, and Curry are all quite injury prone, and all 3 would have to be healthy for GSW to win it all, something I can't really see happening.

Via @ThompsonScribe: "Per one source, the inclusion of Thompson was a counter offer from Minnesota?and the Warriors haven?t responded yet."
