I can easily see Embiid dropping to 4th now, behind Parker , Wiggins, Exum but not to 6th. Someone at 4 or 5 will take him.

Such a shame.

As a fan it's hard to answer the question of whether you would pick him at six. I am a huge fan but if the team doctors think he is going to be chronically injured then I think it would be a bad pick.

If it's like Sullinger where he probably will have limitations this year but should have a relatively clean bill of health after that I think it's a great pick.
exactly but if he checks out ok how does he get past Utah? I don't see it
Every doctor and every team will have different risk aversions. Two doctors might look at it and think different things. Two doctors might both think that it is 50/50 whether he is chronically injured, but one doctor might not want to risk his career by saying he will be fine.

Then how the team uses the information from the doctors is another matter. As a fan it is very difficult because there are so many variables we aren't privy to.
yea getting him top 3 is risky but after that as long he isn't in crutches or requires surgery he'd be game after that don't see him falling all the way to us, if he did we'd have to think real hard about over pushing for Love

So, here I thought Embid was the "next" thing.  he's going to be the #1, stud player, blah blah blah.

Embid's freshman year, 11.2 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.6 blocks.  Draft measurable's, 7' w/shoes, 7'5" wingspan.
Sully's freshman year, 17.2 points, 10.2 rebounds, .5 blocks.  Draft measurable's, 6'9" w/shoes, 7'1.25" wingspan.

I say, we have our future all star PF on the roster!  Now, go get a center!

You know Embiid is a C right???  he has been playing hoops for 3 years and ridiculously athletic? and has shown the ability to adapt to coaching at a remarkable rate?  It stinks that he got hurt but if both players were healthy, it's not even close Embiid is the MUCH better prospect...

This comment is so horrifyingly simplified and short sighted I'm not sure where to start.

Such a shame.

He didn't have that much finesse. It was overrated. Embiid has more finesse, just much less hype.

If OJ Mayo got hurt after the draft consensus opinion would hold that we missed out on a Hall of Fame shooting guard.

Certainly looks like he'd slide to at least 4 if it's broken. I can see him sliding to 6 easily enough too. Wiggins, Parker, Exum are 1-3 in some order, because they're elite too.  ORL takes Smart and UTA takes Vonleh easily enough based on both teams considering them strongly already.  We're then looking at Embiid, Gordon, and Randle and unless Embiid's foot was really damaged, I don't see any reason DA would't take him over those two guys. Maybe Minn sweetens the deal if it plays out this way.

If ORL goes Vonleh at 4, then UTA's really has a problem with Smart ducking them. Maybe they take him or trade with some one who will.

Oden pretty much sealed his #1 status during the national championship game.  Ohio State lost but Oden was just swallowing up multiple future NBA guys in the paint on D, and scoring with ease on the other end.  25 and 12 on 10-15 shooting with 4 blocks.  He was the best player on the court in a game with Noah, Horford, and Conley Jr.  Guy was legit when healthy.

Embiid never put up numbers that good his freshman year, let alone in a title match against one of the best college squads of the century.

I was thinking the same thing..but can you imagine if Embiid is on the board at #6 and Danny DOESN'T choose to trade for KLove?

That debate will last for years -
either how Danny is a genius in trading for KLove OR
Danny was a fool and didn't learn his lesson about oft-injured 7' footers and now the Celtics are finally recovering from the post-Embiid nightmare draft of 2014

Embiid being on the board may also facilitate trading for Love, if the Timberwolves are prepared to gamble on Embiid's health.
