Kevin Love is seriously injury prone and you guys want to trade half our assets to pay him the max.

I'll take the injury prone center, pay him 4 million a year, and keep the rest of our assets, like pick 17, Sully, KO, and future firsts, and 16 million extra dollars a year to pay another star.

He is?

First time I've heard that.

Check his games played...81, 60, 73, 55, 18, 77.  He once broke his hand doing push-ups.

I can see the Cavs passing on him now since the fanbase can't stand another bust at no. 1, the Sixers have Noel, the Bucks have Sanders and the Magic have their Center as well, Embiid could easily slide all the way to us, depends on what the Jazz do..

Question is, will Danny nabJoel and wait a yr...well atleast we can see some interesting stuff happening on draft night.

If he's there at #6, you really have to ask yourself "Why?".

It's going to be because medical reports & red flags.  Not promising news.  If he slips to #6, it means that team doctors think this guy's injuries are a real concern going forward.  Teams aren't drafting him because they're incompetent, its for good reason.

So why waste the #6 pick on Embiid?  If he's there at #6, it's not for good reason.  I'm probably passing.

Worst case: he's an injury prone bust. If so we've got a good shot at a high pick next year.
Middle case: he's an injury prone back up big who provides rim protection when he's on the floor.
Best case: he's a generational talent who anchors the team for the next decade.
With this kind of upside I can't see passing on him.
I just don't buy the argument that big man injuries are so much harder to fix then others.
Wasn't love considered an injury risk when he came into the league?

I would agree with you on the worst to best case scenarios.    I'm not sure I want to be looking at a high pick again last year because this guy flamed out when the Celtics could've added a guy that could start for them for the next decade and be a solid contributor.

This guy is better than Oden ever was

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gp7PX7hYUFQ

Did you even watch Oden in college? He was a better prospect than Embiid.

I did. Oden was just way more hyped than Embiid because he was on the cover of Slam magazine at 15-16 years old, like OJ Mayo.

Oden wasn't a newcomer to the game like Embiid is. You can see significant development in Embiid even from this past season in his pre-draft workouts.

He is much more graceful in his motions than Oden, and shows better touch. Combine that with more passion and a higher IQ, and Embiid is the clear cut better prospect than Oden.

It's just that Embiid wasn't hyped for 4 years prior to the draft like Oden was.

This is bad news if you're a Smart fan. The odds of him being at 6 now is much lower if Orlando sticks with their plan to take a PG/G.

1. Cleveland - Wiggins
2. Milwaukee - Parker
3. Philly - Exum
4. Orlando - Smart
5. Utah - Embiid, Vonleh, or Gordon.
6. Boston - ???

And that 55 was in the lock-out shortened year when there were fewer games played.

Comparisons are being made to Sullinger but he had one known problem, his back.  Embiid now has two, and two of the worst that a big man can have.  In simple terms, this doubles the likelihood that one of the problems will be serious enough to impact his ability to play.

If I was Cleveland, I would just pick Parker (Irving, Waiters, Parker, Bennett, Varejao is a pretty good young core).  If I was Boston, I would not risk the #6 on Embiid.  I don't think he is good enough that he would transcend the team, and we really can't afford to get nothing out of this pick so just take the best of the rest.  Besides, I think Milwaukee or Utah or someone would take a chance on him before we got our shot anyway.

If I were the projected top prospect and the Cavs had the first  pick, I would be like at the end of Scream where they are trying to shoot themselves in the stomach without really hurting themselves but enough to get everyone off their scent

I have a feeling that if he falls to 6, there will be some team willing to trade to get him.  It's a big risk with a big potential reward.  There is certainly a point where that risk is worth it.  With Embiid, it's somewhere between 5 and 10, in my opinion.

As a fan it's hard to answer the question of whether you would pick him at six. I am a huge fan but if the team doctors think he is going to be chronically injured then I think it would be a bad pick.

If it's like Sullinger where he probably will have limitations this year but should have a relatively clean bill of health after that I think it's a great pick.

Every doctor and every team will have different risk aversions. Two doctors might look at it and think different things. Two doctors might both think that it is 50/50 whether he is chronically injured, but one doctor might not want to risk his career by saying he will be fine.

Then how the team uses the information from the doctors is another matter. As a fan it is very difficult because there are so many variables we aren't privy to.

I definitely take a chance on Embiid at #6 but I wouldn't do it with first pick.

Wiggins too gifted to pass on for an injury risk player.
