Would Ainge bring back Perk with the trade exception before letting it expire?

It looks like something that would make sense for the Celtics and for the Thunder.

- The Celtics get a player that they're familiar with, fills a need and on an expiring contract.
- The Thunder acquire their own trade exemption and open up more financial flexibility.

What do you think of this possibility?

1. Id rather throw in a pick with the TPE and get Asik
2. Im not so sure the thunder are ready to throw in Adams as a starting center and Nick Collison provides valuable bemch minutes
3. Not sure what the Thunder would do with the cap space as there are no major FA... I think they would just stick with their group for another year until a couple of contracts expire next year and then theyd go after Aldridge or Gasol, etc

either that or you have been enjoying too many drinks. 

perk is a bad, very bad nba player right now, and will be for the rest of his career in all probability. he adds nothing of value in terms of building a future for the celtics and would simply eat up minutes for younger players on the team, who need to develop.

lets look at this another way. given perk's sad stats, immobility, god awful offense, and bloated contract, if he had NEVER BEEN A CELTIC, who here would be clamoring for the celtics to acquire him?

this is a case of going with someone who is familiar not because they are good, but because they are familiar.

unless of course folks are advocating a grand reunion with gg, walker, our-melo ^(tm), pierce, and brooks.  who wouldnt want that??

Gerald Green? We wouldn't be able to acquire him through absorbing, he would come at a cost. Perk is as low risk as bringing Antoine back in 2005 was. Perk would fit into a 3-man rotation with Olynk and Sullinger, and his expiring contract is more of an asset than simply letting our TE expire, and that's really the only scenario in which this becomes a reality.
