I could see Draxler having a lot of value here in extra time. Fresh legs. I liked the idea of Klose but maybe Draxler's ability to run at defenders would be better here than a #9.

Some talk from commentators about Mertesacker needing to come off though. That Germany will have to use their last sub on a defender because he is tired and moving badly. That would be unfortunate if that is forced change. A fresh-legged attacker could prove so important.

Edit: Ooh, nevermind. Goal Germany!

SHIRLEY!!!
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

Muller is amazing. The number of goals he gets and great passes that leads to goals. So decisive.

Germany got constantly better as the match progressed, which isn't saying much, considering the first half debacle. Neuer with an impeccable performance, proving why they call him the best keeper in the world, has to be MotM. Still, if they keep playing like that, they'll get eaten alive by France's fast attackers.

Saw a stat before the game.

Average percentage of goals per shot: 10%
Ronaldo and Klose: 20%
Mueller: 16 shots, 11 on target, 9 goals, 56%

You know those old Disney clips, where Goofy is a sports star, stumbling his way through the match, pants hanging loosely from his lanky body, tripping over a water bucket, but ends up with the game-winning goal? That's basically Mueller

I mean, just look at this picture

Who jumps like that?

So, I read this charming article about Belgium, my home country, on Yahoo Sports today: https://sports.yahoo.com/news/a-matter-of-national-insecurity--why-u-s--cannot-lose-to-belgium-185014675.html

I just wanted to let you guys know we love you too ;-)

Looking forward to a great game.

Kne, i understand the joke in the article but it was a pretty weak in general. Theres more to belgium than that. I have actually been, for like 30 minutes, to Belgium. My wife is French and her family is like 10 minutes away from Belgium. We briefly went to Yipres and got some good chocolate. It was pretty cool and i am looking forward to visiting a little bit more when i visit her family again.
