Huntelaar on german TV:

Quote
The doc said we should drink a lot, so I drank a lot.  In the middle of the second half, I needed to pee. So I rushed to the toilet, and when I came back, coach puts me in the game. Pressure was off.

 ;D
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

poor Mexico

No sympathy for Mexico whatsoever.  They were lucky to even be in this World Cup, thanks to the USA of all countries.

I won't say that I am some huge fan of Holland, but I do generally like to see them do well.  Always enjoyed their style of play.  Mexico on the other hand, screw them.

Very cautious, slow paced game with neither side getting many scoring chances.  I could easily see a 0-0 extra time game.  Most likely though, Costa Rica manages a 1-0 victory.

I think Greece edges this one.

Costa Rica were a big surprise in first game or two. Now teams have had a chance to figure them out. Do not expect them to do as well going forward.

Except they showed that they belong in the World Cup. Great performances against Brazil and Croatia, both teams we can agree are better than Mexico.

And then against Holland, they had them on their boots for 80+ minutes. And to lose like that, on a questionable penalty call, its the Tevez offside goal all over again.

You're right, they did lucked in into the Cup, but give credit for what they did. They played really well and looked like a deserving team.

Julio Cesar was great in that penalty shootout. Barely played this year. QPR ignored him. Moved to Toronto. Hardly any first team football. Stepped up huge in penalty shootout.

Bravo was very good too. Psyched out Brazil's guys with his antics. Pointing which direction he was going to go and getting inside their heads. I read that Barcelona have signed him. Paid ?9 million. 31 years old.

Who will start - Bravo or ter Stegen?

Most definitely ter Stegen. One of the best young keepers in the world, costs more money, was signed much earlier.

I would assume the same.  However, I believe ter Stegen (boy is he huge!) was acquired for
10-11 million euros.  Peanuts, if you ask me.

Spurs Game 6 Redux.  Except worse since Mexico has to wait four years now for redemption.

Round of 16 yet again.  All credit to them, however, as they were great for 87 minutes.
