If Italy loses, England is eliminated, right?
Yes

Quote
One last reminder on what this result means in Group D.

England will be out if today's result is anything other than an Italy win.
Italy cannot qualify today.
Costa Rica will qualify if they win.

Costa Rica is playing this very smart. Well organized defensively, and then with nice combinations going forward.
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

Oh Insigne. What a good ball and run. Wasted opportunity.

Costa Rica have done a great job with their offside traps.

Remember the 80ies, when people sniffed at Germany and their 5-man backline?

WC 2014 in Brazil, and it's totally en vogue.

What a World Cup, so many inverted stereotypes.

Italy = for a team that is only 1-0 down, looks totally resigned to losing this game. So little urgency / self-belief from the Italians. It's only one bloody goal!

Costa Rica have done a great job with their offside traps.

Yes they have, and it's driving me insane.

Very poor effort by the Italian forward players to stay onside though.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
Costa Rica has destroyed whatever hope England has had left.

Great showing, I'm starting to love this team.

Completely deserved win for Costa Rica. Great performance. Tactically, technically and mentally superior today.

Imagine if Uruguay beats Italy.  :o

Haven't been this angry/frustrated watching a soccer match in quite some time.  Very disappointed in the performance by Italy today.

I thought England was out before today's Italy game.  Can someone explain by what tiebreaker England would have made it over Uruguay had Italy won today and then England beat Costa Rica?

Doesn't head to head trump total goals?

Edit:  nevermind, forgot Uruguay lost its first game....

Back to back goals from France.

Giroud with a great power header, just off the fingertips of the Swiss goalie. And then took advantage of lazy passing, great through ball by Benzema for the Matuidi goal.

I told ya, France.

That third goal was fantastic.  France look like they are for real.

This is a route.

The Swiss could not take advantage of their chances, and France is still putting the ball in the back of the net.

Absolute great performance.

And Benzema, I wonder why Real Madrid fans (atleast the ones where I am that I talk to) dont want him? He's seriously good.
