Err, I don't get your point, then.  My point is simply that all the games so far have been convincing wins by the home team.  Different dynamics lead to different point differentials (ex: a fresh bench running the Spurs' "plug in anyone" system vs. tired OKC starters in Game 4), but there's a reason why every reporter, analyst, and even player has been calling this a series of blowouts.

Same point.  Convincing win by the home teams, BUT much more convincing wins by San Antonio (unless you're trying to dispute that?)

My other point:  Pops is by far the best coach in the league right now.  Not only because of the priceless wired in the huddle stuff, also because he recognized the HUGE Ibaka advantage and went with no one other than Bonner and Diaw at PF the entire game to keep him out of the paint on D.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

I don't take much from blowouts.  The only thing I'm taking from these is that San Antonio has a better system and thus can maintain and even build upon leads with their bench, whereas the Thunder's bench run into the usual pitfall of squandering leads.  I don't find a final score differential of 35 any more impressive than a 27-point lead in the course of the game that effectively renders it over.  Both games are blowouts at that point; final score ultimately doesn't matter.

So, no, I don't really find San Antonio's wins much more convincing than the Thunder's.  All five games have been routs of the visiting team.  Really can't take much of anything away when both teams' starting fives have been drubbing the other's by 20 points before the benches come in.

Whatever.  If you don't consider a better bench and a better system an advantage then what do you want me to say?

Oh.  It's the halftime score that "renders the game over," and the "final score ultimately doesn't matter."

If you don't consider +80 any more impressive than +21 then how do you expect me to argue with you?  Any game is a complete crap-shoot!  San Antonio wins and home-court advantage don't mean anything as long OKC keeps winning at home!

Please wait until OKC wins the next two games before you start telling me that final scores don't matter.

Don't focus as much on the similarities -- look more at the difference between the two.

Yes, clearly that's it.  Not the fact that I pointed out that Pop basically conceded the game midway through the third quarter (not halftime) with the 27-point deficit by pulling his starters...

And obviously a better bench and a better system are an advantage.  That has nothing to do with anything I said, though.  Great, the better system means they eventually lose by a more respectable 13 and 9 instead of 30.  They're still losing and they were still getting blown out in those games before garbage time.

None of these games were close, regardless of the final score.  The Spurs ran the Thunder out of the building in Games 1, 2, and 5 and the Thunder returned the favor in Games 3 and 4.

"They won by 30, that's a routing!"
"They won by 15, that's a routing!"

Still a routing all the same.  Doesn't mean anything significant to me.

As I said, the only difference I can see between the two is that San Antonio has a better system, so they can still use their bench to make runs when a game has been conceded.  This isn't news to me, though, and it shouldn't be to anyone who knows the Spurs and the Thunder, as I assume you both do.

Pop rested his starters with 27mins left, the bench clawed back but they were never going to be able to win it. Difference is, OKC's biggest offensive threat is and Durant/Westbrook played all those minutes - yes they're young pups but the fatigue showed last night right down to Durant missing 2 FT's when they needed them most.

I really hope the Spurs can beat OKC on their home turf. I still feel they're still the only real threat to getting rid of the Heat.

It's hilarious how IND still hasn't figured out West is twice the post up option that Hibbert is.
