Boris Diaw.
Anyone else quite like this guy?
Royce White could have been. [dang] it.
Good thing the Celtics drafted Sullinger!
Also good we didn't trade up for Austin Rivers.
Next closest thing to Boris Diaw might be Olynyk. Big with guard skills, passing, mobility and no vert.
Though I'd have liked Kelly to be stronger. Might be a strange fetish of mine...undersized, strong stout bigs with guard skills and versatility.
Maybe it's because they're the exact opposite of what you'd expect of a basketball player - long and lean with outworldly athleticism who are defined by scoring and...dunks.
I think down the road Kyle Anderson could be that type of player. Boris played anywhere between PG to C for Phoenix. Kyle has a similar feel for angles and assists, is probably a better rebounder and a worse defender. Interesting option for 17.
Nice one.
Diaw is a versatile, net positive, very solid scorer and defender. Two areas that are question marks for Kyle Anderson.
When you think about it, if Anderson were a more capable scorer OR defender, he'd be at least several spots higher. If he were even average at both (so he's basically Diaw), I might even pick him in the single digits (would you pick Diaw in the top 10 this year?).
Makes you think what Diaw would have been if he didn't have a weight problem and had a "take over mentality". Or maybe if he'd spent his years playing for the Spurs.
