Boris Diaw.

Anyone else quite like this guy?

Royce White could have been. [dang] it.

Good thing the Celtics drafted Sullinger!

Also good we didn't trade up for Austin Rivers.

Next closest thing to Boris Diaw might be Olynyk. Big with guard skills, passing, mobility and no vert.

Though I'd have liked Kelly to be stronger. Might be a strange fetish of mine...undersized, strong stout bigs with guard skills and versatility.

Maybe it's because they're the exact opposite of what you'd expect of a basketball player - long and lean with outworldly athleticism who are defined by scoring and...dunks.

I think down the road Kyle Anderson could be that type of player. Boris played anywhere between PG to C for Phoenix. Kyle has a similar feel for angles and assists, is probably a better rebounder and a worse defender. Interesting option for 17.

Nice one.

Diaw is a versatile, net positive, very solid scorer and defender. Two areas that are question marks for Kyle Anderson.

When you think about it, if Anderson were a more capable scorer OR defender, he'd be at least several spots higher. If he were even average at both (so he's basically Diaw), I might even pick him in the single digits (would you pick Diaw in the top 10 this year?).

Makes you think what Diaw would have been if he didn't have a weight problem and had a "take over mentality". Or maybe if he'd spent his years playing for the Spurs.

This sums up why I hope the Spurs win it all this year.

I really hope Parker can get better fast. Without him I just don't see the Spurs winning this.

Tony Parker with his customary injury that will likely hamper him but not rule him out ::)

Even with HCA, I don't see the Spurs winning it. LeBron's already had his game where he gets fouls called on him.

These so-called fouls weren't there in Game 6 and 7 last year. These are the two best teams; they both have a shot.

What a terrible NBA season from start to finish minus a brief first round and I guess a slightly entertaining Lance Stephenson

Has it not been one of the worst in years topped off with a rematch of Spurs and Heat?

Wonder how their ratings have been. Could these playoffs have been anymore predictable? I know I won't be watching these finals much. Just not intriguing in the slightest

Pfft. You can't say that with a straight face about the entire league.

It was a terrible season for watching the Celtics and expecting wins, I guess.

I disagree. The 1st round of the playoffs this year were great. Every series was watchable. Next two rounds were disappointing, but other than a BOS vs anyone final a SA vs MIA rematch is exactly what I wanted. San Antonio better get the job done this year.

I thought it was pretty common knowledge that this season was a joke in the NBA. I don't think you can say it was even average with a straight face.

The East might as well not existed the entire season,  the east playoffs were a complete joke. Yeah some good games here and there, with teams that were ultimately going to get smoked by the heat. The 2 biggest stories during the playoffs were Sterling and Lance Stephenson blowing in LeBron ear.  Awesome!!

Oh yes the Heat.  Who wouldn't love to see them in the finals for the 4th year in a row?  How awesome would it be to see them there next year too!?!?

I guess it's cool seeing the Spurs there at least since they've rarely been in the NBA finals.

how is Tim Duncan still playing at such a high level and KG has totally deteriorated?

Duncan relies on his fundamentals while KG relies on his athleticism.

There's some truth to that but KG has two more years in the league and spent a bunch of years in Minny totally carrying the load in a way Duncan never had.  KG also didn't have the body to be a low-post banger 'til he was many, many years into his career and never really developed that part of his game.

the most baffling thing to me though is how KG pretty much lost his jumpshot this year. Even though you could tell he wasnt the same player after his knee surgery he still had his jumpshot and turn around jumper. This year he seemed to lose that and was mostly just a defensive presence.

Injuries matter a ton too.

KG looked a lot better than Duncan during many moments of the C's run of contention. Duncan was moving around on the floor slower and just playing worse than he is now for a few of those seasons.

That could all just be either specific injuries we don't hear much about, or just general wear and tear from who had more significant injuries.

Yeah, it was so predictable seeing the Mavs take the Spurs to 7 games, the Wizards beat out the Bulls, and the Pacers go from a title favorite to one of the laughingstocks, among many other things.
