35 points last night.

"The nation's leading scorer delivered Thursday night with a dazzling shooting display in his Big East tournament debut, scoring a record 27 of his 35 points in the first half for No. 14 Creighton during an 84-62 victory over DePaul at Madison Square Garden."

http://espn.go.com/ncb/recap?gameId=400546034
DePaul had the interesting strategy of leaving him open off of the most basic screening action. Or in the case of two of his 3s having a 2/3 zone that didn't extend to him on the 3 point line.

So yeah.....

Rest of Creighton concerned me though, sloppiness against DePaul works for you. But other teams are better and can take advantage. My Creighton Alum friends are concerned.

If AB went 14-22 people would be saying we should trade him 'cause he's chucking.

And if it was Jeff Green people would complain he looked sleepy and wasn't taking over the game enough.

And if it was Rondo half of us would be calling for Ainge to flip him while he's hot, half of us would be trying to convince everyone that he could have a game like that whenever he wanted to and half of us would be sad that "Rondo's not passing as much as he used to."

There's three halves to Celtics fans when it comes to Rondo.

Some of you are longing for a whiteboy that can play on the Cs...McDermott isn't the guy fellas. He's extremely slow and screams Kyle Korver, and not to knock Kyle because he's had a great career as a role player in this league and is a excellent shooter.

Chandler Parsons was that guy and he's on the Rockets.  ::)

I'd take the local kid from Roxbury, Wayne Selden with the 2nd 1st. He looks raw right now, but he has a ton of upside. Also we need a SG for the future and if with some grace of god we get Jabari, Selden would be the perfect compliment in the next few years.

I'm inclined to agree with you, Boss.

HOWEVER.

I just saw this absurd assist from that Creighton game:

Not a big fan of Selden.  How much upside do you think he has?  I think he comes out to an average NBA athlete at best.  He doesn't move his feet well laterally and he has really poor footwork/foot timing on his moves.  His feet get tangled up a lot when he drives into the paint and I think it partly stems from the hip tightness that inhibits his defense.  His handle is decent but not airtight against ball pressure and his shot is erratic.

I want to like him more because I love his unselfish mindset and because he's a local guy.  He's one of the best and most willing post feeders you can find.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
I'm starting to love Doug McDermott more and more.

He does not have the athletic ability but he seems to have the ELITE level ability to score the basketball, and he has size.

He may not be able to defend quicker wings, but I think he'll be able to score on them either.

I would not be opposed of we take him as our second first rounder.

I'd consider him with our second 1st. I do like Selden though.

Mcdermott's defense is better than most people think. He is light on his feet and has high iq to make up for lack of elite quickness/athleticism. He will also usually have a hand up, and if you get score over his  6'8 frame, 6'9 wingspan it will take some effort

On offense what i like best about his game is tha the will come around screens with his hands out. He wants the ball and most of the time he gets it, its in the basket. He is very confident in his ability to score

Like have already said, even though he will have a harder time to get free and score in the nba,  he will still run around like a headless chicken and try. It doesn't matter how good of a defender you are, you will eventually tire out trying to cover a guy like Mcdermott

I'd consider him with our second too, but I have liked Kyle Anderson for a couple of months.

Check out the video in this article link of UCLA's semi-final Pac-12 demolishing of Stanford last night.

It's the game highlights, but might as well be labeled "Kyle Anderson" highlights.

His anticipation, court awareness and vision are elite. The biggest knock on him is that he's not uber-athletic. Neither is Tyler Ennis and lots of people LOVE that guy. I don't get it. I take Anderson over Ennis 100x out of 100.

A 6'9" point guard/forward with a 7'2' wingspan.

This comment seems a bit unessecary.

I'm not going assume anything here, as it pertains to race and intent, but the fact people feel ok making clearly slanderous remarks about 'white folk', and that it seemingly can just be swept under the rug irritates me.

This is what is referred to as a double standard.

I'd say his athleticism is below average, even at the college level.  Physically, he sorta reminds me of a Channing Frye.  That was a nice post-up/dunk in that video though.

I was actually thinking that Danny might want to move down. If Parker and Wiggins are gone. I would seriously consider moving down and taking McDermott and a PG to backup Rondo.
