Michael Kidd-Gilchrist seems like the best comparison for me.

Their nbadraft.net profiles are eerily similar, especially when the individual categories are broken down:

http://nbadraft.net/players/michael-kidd-gilchrist

http://www.nbadraft.net/players/aaron-gordon

No O, close to same size and measurements, lock down defender.

Their skill sets are very similar but Gordon's superior standing reach 8'10.5" places him safety in the PF role. MKG's is 8'8.5" making him a SF. If Gordon never develops his perimeter game he will still have the size and athleticism to get by at the 4. MKG does that have that benefit.

There are some similarities, but a couple major differences.

First of all, Gordon isn't a "no O" player.  His shot is broken.  He needs to get that fixed.  But he has a very complete skillset otherwise.  MKG also had some skills offensively, but not as developed as Gordon's.

The other, bigger thing is the Gordon is two inches taller, and is a SF/PF type, whereas MKG is a SG/SF.  It is really really hard for a guy to get away with not being a lights out shooter when you are exclusively on the wing like MKG, but when you can play up to PF, then it makes it much easier to get away with the lack of shooting.

I really like the Andrei Kirilenko comps.  I think its right on, I just hope Gordon can have better health.

MKG is nothing like Gordon,   do you guys even what the NCAA's?  Gprdon is a way better athlete.  MKG is a way better wing defender.   The only thing similar is that neither are developed shooters.   Gordon is a alley oop machine, MKG was not.

Don't quit your day job and become scouts, I don't think that will work out for you.

So if Gordon turns into the next Luol Deng, is that worth a 6-9 area pick?

I'd be pretty thrilled to end up with a player like that with a pick outside of the top 5.

Nick Johnson was the guy I was talking about and I 'd rather have him than Gordon.

Gordon is going to be a nice player. Look at the clip above.  He has a much better offensive game than he has shown so far. Like a rookie in the NBA , he is just learning college ball in his freshman year. But if he cameback next year to play in his sophmore year, bigger, stronger, quicker  he would be that much better imo . (like in the clip above)

Defensively even in his freshman year, he was that good. Imagine next year if he cameback with a stronger body, what more he can do?

I hope danny is considering drafting Gordon if he declares.  By next years draft , we might not get a chance to

Interestingly, there's some merit to the idea that going into the NBA does more for your development than staying in college:

I have to admit, I wasn't very high on Gordon earlier in the year.  But I guess I am coming to the realization that we probably aren't getting a top 3-4 pick. If we are in that next step down of talent maybe Gordon isn't a bad pick.  I liked how he seems to be picking his game up at the end of the year.  With his reach and leaping ability he would be a good compliment to Sully and KO.  I am slowing becoming more comfortable that BS might be able to use him well as a hybrid 3-4, especially in certain match ups.  I don't think that Green is automatically gone if we draft Gordon.

If we take him with our 1st pick, hopefully a rim protector, or a shooting guard for the 2nd pick.

You should see his elementary school highlights.

I've seen him listed at 6'8"-6'9". Kid is 18 years old. Imagine if he grew 2 inches. With his tenacious d and high motor he would be a top center prospect.
Let's draft him and start feedin him the spinach  :)
In all seriousness if we miss out on Embiid, Parker, Wiggins I'd be good with drafting him. we need players with his mentality.

I could see a scenario where we draft Gordon then trade one of sully or oly + contracts for Asik.

Rondo, pressey
Bradley, Johnson
Green, Gordon
Oly, Gordon
Asik, oly, fav

Great defensive potential on that squad with Bradley, Gordon and Asik.
Swing for the fences in 2015 and go after high scoring wing in fa or trade.

He will do whatever it takes to win from what i've seen of Gordon so far. And if that means scoring 6 pts to concentrate on other things, thats what he will do.  If that means covering the opposing players best C, PF, SF he will do it. Diving for balls, battling for rebounds, weakside defense x 10. I think also he can carry you on offense, but he doesn't have to do that much for Arizona. He works with other guys to maximize efficiency and imo that is smart

Now, I'm on the bandwagon.  I was lukewarm at first due to the shooting and the tweener position.

But he's got elite athleticism, elite defense, and he's so young.

Would be a really good pickup...if we can't get Wiggins!

Wiggins, Embiid, Parker, Gordon and Exum would all be exciting additions, imo.
