he is a poor mans Blake... Vonleah will be the real deal imo
I too like the kid from Indiana. He's a little raw but he shows in having skills in almost all phases of the game. Haven't seen him push the ball up the court tho..lol..
I've seen him block a shot way out of bounds that he probably could've knocked to a teammate. So his next block you could tell he eased up and did just that. He learns fast. He's going to develop nicely.

Edit: I didn't mean to highjack the thread either so I'll just say Gordon wouldn't be my 1st pick so it all depends if he's the pick we get from Atl/Bkn and who else is available with the second pick.

he has good size, potential, good kid from what i read. but nothing over the top. seems passive like green.  his stats have been sliding now0

Quote
Chad Ford: Celtics are "fans of" Aaron Gordon

NBA: Tank Rank -- Tourney Watch - ESPN

The Celtics like Parker, Wiggins and Embiid a lot. But they are also fans of Arizona's Aaron Gordon, who is one of the best athletes in the draft. He's not as polished offensively, but he's one of those players who does a little bit of everything and impacts the game on both ends of the floor.

I got a feeling if we draft 5 or 6, Danny is going to draft Gordon and trade Green.  How can you not be interested in this kid?  He doesn't care about stats vs winning. His team is one of the best in the country bc of his help. He is not only a top defender for his position but also in the whole ncaa

Gordon might end up becoming a Blake Griffin one day also. But has a longer wingspan, better handles , passing skills and higher iq. Griffin also struggled as a shooter in college and look at him now. Gordon will likely improve also. His FT per in the U19 was around 65%, so he might just be facing some bad luck in his first year in Arizona

I'm glad to hear the Celtics like Gordon. He is a heck of a defender and a good team player.

I dont get the early griffin comparisons though. Blake has always looked to dunk over and through people. He has and had so much power even as a rookie.

Gordon is more finesse. He plays smart ball. The Kirilenko comp keeps looking more likely as he continues to step his game up as the season marches on.

I like Gordon in the 6-10 range.

Man a pick in the the 5-7 range is tough in this draft. The top four look like locks. Then if you draft around 8-10 you can pick up whoever slides in that 5-10th pick group.

dead on. Or you might reach for a Mcdaniel bc his over the top athleticism.  Maybe reach out for Nurkic who might end of being a top 5 player down the road

This is going to be one of the best drafts to watch

Top 5 player in the draft or the league?
PHX Suns: Russell Westbrook, Chris Bosh, Tristan Thompson, Trevor Ariza, Tony Allen, Trey Lyles, Corey Brewer, Larry Nance Jr., Trey Burke, Troy Daniels, Joffrey Lauvergne, Justin Holiday, Mike Muscala, 14.6

I like Gordon but I see way more Brandan Wright than Blake Griffin. I'd be glad if he became a Celtic but hope we do better.

no way man. Much better than Wright who is a stiff and never reached his potential.

Gordon has much more to offer. Kirilenko is actually a pretty good comparison

To be honest, I think I'd prefer any one of TJ Warren, Rodney Hood, Jusuf Nurkic, Nik Stauskas or Dario Saric to Aaron Gordon.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

All older and better point producers for now but worse defenders than gordon

Kyle Anderson  OWNED him in the PAC -12 Championdhip game last weekend.

No thanks.

I'd rather trade down and get an extra pick than pick him with our first.

I wish i could have seen that game! Were those two players really playing head to head?

I am used to seeing Gordon playing against forwards, and Anderson playing guard out on the perimeter.

If the C's keep winning, we just might get him.

He is good player but is he the right fit for the Celtics, maybe?

He better get a lot better offensively because if not, then the Celtics picked a defensive specialist in the top 10... >:(

I think the Celtics need a rim protector and better shooting.

Not Aaron "Jack of All Trades, Master of None" Gordon!

There's a good chance the Celtics end up picking in the 5-9 range, so guys like Aaron Gordon and Noah Vonleh might be the caliber of player that gets taken with the pick.

So better start warming up to the idea of potentially getting a super role player out of the tank season.
