Oh and by getting Asik the Lakers wouldn't have max cap room to run at Melo/Bosh/whomever too. Lakers don't want him.

Steve Bulpett says Celtics trade font is quiet is weird a lot of writers say we are serious about Asik but the beat writers say we are quiet.
Boston guys say its quiet, other guys on the other end of the sources say we're involved heavily.

Also Bulpett said "it could all change with a call". I think the C's put that out there to signal they're not backing off whatever offer they last put out there.

Three team deals are always super leaky.

That's where the C's were just before the Doc deal was finally consummated.

Knicks can't stop him from leaving he's an UFA and sign and trades don't give the player more money anymore. So a Melo sign and trade isn't necessary, they have the cap space to do it.

One possible scenario that has emerged, sources say, is a three-way trade in which Boston lands Asik, Cleveland absorbs the contract of Celtics forward Jeff Green and Houston scores no fewer than one of the future first-round picks it covets for surrendering Asik. Other players would have to be involved in such a trade to make the salary-cap math work, but it's the sort of trade that would fall in line with Cleveland's well-known focus on upgrading its options at small forward. ESPN.com -

I'm not sure if I want to give up Green for Asik. Jeff has really good, especially for what we are paying him.

I dont get the Jeff Green hate around Boston. He has played well for us especially this year. I also dont want to give up Jeff in an Asik deal because he has been proven to guard (or at least somewhat contain)  the James, Durants, and Georges of the world with more success than most others can. And thats huge in todays NBA.

I share this opinion. How can the Celts plan on beating Miami if Jeff Green is not on this team? He plays James about as well as anyone. I would trade Bass for Asik but not Green.

I am not a Jeff Green fan but I agree, I am not moving him for Asik.

He's shut down Melo countless times as well he was our best player in the playoffs last year wasn't he?

As always, it's better to be anyone than the Knicks:

According to a report, the Knicks are attempting to get in the Omer Asik trade sweepstakes. Except, you know, the Rockets have to want something they have.

I gotta say i would love Asik here. He would be a good Center to have behind Sully for years to come. Sully can pick and pop while he picks and rolls. Plus we would become one of the better rebounding teams with those two, plus KO off the bench. If its Bass Brooks and a pick then get it done. If Green has to be involved then i'd say hold off.

Well, Woj is about as legit as it gets. I think I'd be surprised to see Asik NOT come to Boston.

Really really really hope Jeff Green is not in the deal...
