I don't understand why anyone would want to pay $12-15M for Gordon Hayward. He's a good, while unexceptional, offensive player. On the defensive end, he's slightly below average and has nowhere near the tools to guard an elite wing in a 7 game playoff series. He's, at best, the third best player on a championship team. I'm not even sure if I want him as my third best considering we've seen in 6 of the last 7 years it takes a player like Chris Bosh, Manu Ginobili, Ray Allen, Andrew Bynum to be the third best player on a championship team and Gordon Hayward will never be that.
If giving him $10M a year allows you some freedom to bolster the supporting cast, OK, I could be down for that (while there's no way Utah lets him leave for that price). But $12-15M is not an option for me.
