Sterling is getting punked by Chris Paul. I'm sick of these trade talks with tha Clippers. This supposed best deal for KG and Doc is a bad one at tha same time. I hope Danny throws Lee/Terry's contract back at them and kill this deal again.

Tha Clippers walked away twice. Danny should have let it be but he does have all tha marbles since tha Clippers initiated these talks again. It was said on ESPN that tha Clips feel they can get this deal done tonight but if this deal is gonna happen Danny should plug everything he can out of them. Including Bledsoe.

Agreed. If Chris Paul wants it done, and if Doc and KG (and, presumably, Pierce) are what's supposed to put the Clips over the top, then they're worth a heck of a lot more than DeAndre Jordan and two late-first-round picks.

Can I help you?

Yes, I'd like the #5 combo: Bledsoe with DJ and Caron and two sides of first-rounders, please.

I strongly suspect that Ainge would rather try and shop Pierce around and see what he can get for him in a trade.  It wouldn't be much, because I'm sure Ainge won't take back any big contracts, but there's going to be some team under the cap who will think adding Pierce will give them a shot at playoff contention without having to mortgage their future.

Mike
I agree with this and to add to it, he could already have that deal done and is just waiting for these negotiations to finalize, to announce that other deal. Remember, anything with Pierce will have to happen fast, as the date for a decision as to whether to pick up the whole contract for next year is June 30th.

I hope there is a broad market for Pierce, but I struggle to see the logic for any team that is not a contender or a borderline contender.  I just don't see why a lottery bound or low playoff seed team would want Pierce just to get them a little better.

Woj on Clips-Celts now: "the talks are still at Jordan & one pick, Boston still wants two picks...Chris Paul has begun to exert some muscle"

YES!!!! Make the deal Danny. Make it NOW! Can't wait for youth to finally be represented here. Its been a long time coming. My dream for Wiggins is very much alive.

Get ready for mediocrity.  We'll be bad enough to miss the playoffs, but probably not terrible enough to finish in the bottom five.

I think this year's top 4 lottery teams, Cleveland, Orlando, Washington and Charlotte, will all give us fits next year.  Pretty sure we'll be better than Phoneix but I expect a ton of losses...

I think the market for Pierce would be more for teams that want to be able to waive him for cap purposes. Since we aren't competing we can take back a bad contract thats either expiring or soon to be expiring and hopefully they include a pick for our troubles.

I can see that.  But not to add PP to a mediocre team's roster for 16M.  But the more teams with any interest in Pierce, or his cap space, the better.

I just hope Danny doesn't settle for just Jordan and 2 picks. Popeyes Chicken .99$ cent 2pc tuesdays is a better deal than tha one for Doc and KG. I like Jordan, he's from tha same city as me, but tha C's would be getting robbed for an elite coach and a great talent in KG.

If Danny can't squeeze Bledsoe out and push either Lee/Terry's contract along with Jordan and 2 picks, he shouldn't pull a trigger on anything. What does that say about tha Clippers tho that knowing they want to keep CP3, Bledsoe is seemingly worth more than what Chris Paul wants.

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
Most likely framework, amid signs of progress in talks, remains DeAndre Jordan for KG & two first-rounders for Doc Rivers' coaching rights

Stein

Would people rather have Bledsoe, or the 2 picks? I'm a little torn myself

Bledsoe = because you can trade him for a higher single pick.

How high of a pick do you really think he could get?

I feel the hype machine on Bledsoe got a little out of control this past season.

A mid to late lottery pick.

Yea, I think the 9-12 range is likely where it would settle.
What point guards in this year's draft do you think will end up being better than Bledsoe? I think none.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Is it possible celtics are asking for bledsoe or a different players in this deal right now.

If it is the jordan and 2 firsts wouldn't of this have been done when clippers called back?

I think your comment is logical.  Both Deandre and KG are signed on for two years.  Over the next two years, I am pretty sure KG is going to be a vastly superior player to DeAndre Jordan.. KG will do more for our young players and contribute to our defense.

And when KG and Pierce finally do retire, we theoretically will have cap space.  If we used that cap space to sign someone like DeAndre Jordan, it would be deemed a massive waste of money.

But I don't think it's about winning games.  It's about bringing in assets and tanking.  Maybe we can flip Jordan for cap space and a pick.

I don't think Danny has gone back to requesting Bledsoe. He has been off the table for too long now.

I think they probably came back offering DJ, a first and a second and Danny has upped his demands to DJ, 2 firsts and swapping Terry for Butler's expiring deal.

I'd like to see Ainge hold his ground and get the second round pick and cap relief, especially since CP3 has apparently gotten involved.

He would have to play some serious hardball hoping that CP3 would throw his weight around threatening not to resign if they didn't get the deal done to be able to get them to even consider including Bledsoe, but I don't see that happening.

Well, I'm also under the impression that KG will retire before playing out his contract.

I think that, if KG isn't traded, he, Pierce, and Rivers will retire together this year.

I guess we know how the talk went!

According to Woj, Clippers reached out first.
